Goku: Gosh, are woman like this where you come from? Turtle: No, most have tails.
Bulma: Did you know you don't have to keep a tail just cause you were born with one? Some dogs actually get their tails cut off while they're still small. Goku: You shouldn't have let them do that to you, Bulma, you're no dog!
Bulma: Look at you! You're suppose to cover up your front! Goku: (covers his face with a towel) Uh.. Like this?
Goku: Morning, huh? Reminds me of Grandpa's soft pillow of balls. Let's try it. (Goku looks under Bulma's panties and screams, when he sees that she has no balls) Bulma: What's wrong?! What happened? Goku: (shocked and disgusted) No balls ... none... Bulma: The Dragonballs?
Original Japanese Title: あらららー!タマがない! (Alalala-! No Balls!)
Original Japanese Airdate: March 5, 1986 (7:00 – 7:30PM, Wednesday, Fuji TV)
Manga Correlation: - Chapter 002, "There Are No Balls!!" - Chapter 003, "Goku - Running to the Sea" (Pages 1-7)
Running Gag: Goku continues to think that Bulma is mad about not having a tail.
Recurring Character Debut: Master Roshi's Turtle (actually given a name (Umigame) in the Japanese Version)
Episode Edit: For some odd reason the shot where gas fumes are coming from Pilaf's rear-end after he farted was cut from the edited 2001 U.S version, but it was retained in the 1995 dub.
Scene Edit: When Goku throws his power pole to save Bulma, you can see a small sparkle under Bulma. In the original version, Bulma wet herself in fear.
Cut Scene: Realizing that Goku hasn't showered for some time, Bulma decides to give him a bath, since Goku has no idea how to bathe himself. It is then that Bulma realizes that Goku's tail is actually real, noticing how Goku actually uses it to grab Bulma's squeegee to wash himself.
Even though Shuu is called Shao on the American Television version the name Shuu is kept on the Uncut English Version.
Episode Edit: The Canadian dub of this episode takes a different approach in editing the scene when Goku removes Bulma's underwear. Of course, it didn't actually show Goku pulling down her underwear, but after the two go to sleep, Goku wakes up and suddenly starts screaming. Bulma then wakes up and then runs over to the Dragon Balls and says: "You really scared me, Goku! For a while, I actually thought my balls were gone!" This immediately cuts to the morning scene.
Cut Scene: In the original uncut version, during the night, while Bulma is asleep, Goku tries to lay down on her crotch, remembering 'grandfather's golden pillow'. However, he's surprised at what he finds, removing Bulma's underwear, and screaming "No balls!" Bulma is shocked, waking up, thinking the Dragonballs were stolen. When he tells her that they're safe, she goes back to bed, not realizing what just occurred.
