    Episode #19 - The Lemon-AIDS Walk - 2/22/06

With South Park of course still on the off-season, Drawn Together continues its season tonight with another great episode.

As the housemates play a game of badminton with another group of assorted ripped-off cartoon characters, the gang finds out that Captain Hero ... sucks at sports! In fact, athletics happens to be his "kryptonite."

In order to redeem himself, Hero realizes that he must join in on the AIDS research charity walk. Of course, as he tries to train for the big marathon, he realizes he ... totally sucks at walking in general. So he ends up turning to .. steroids! Hero then becomes addicted and ends up stealing money from the rest of the housemates (his "sponsors") to bulk up more and more!

After Foxxy finds out she stages an intervention with the others to try to help him, but Hero murders all of them (of course, it's Drawn Together, so they don't stay dead forever). Captain Hero hooks up with Popeye, who trains him and supplies him with more steroids. Hero ends up forgetting why he started bulking up in the first place ... until Popeye dies and he finds out that he had contracted the AIDS virus from sharing steroid needles.

Promising to "win" the "race" clean, Hero participates in the AIDS walk and ends up killing everyone else involved in some horrible fashion ... before anyone finishes 1 lap! Although he thinks he "wins" the race, Hero makes it so that they don't raise jack squat for the cause!

Meanwhile, Spanky tries to corrupt Wooldoor by getting him to smoke and do illegal things - like steal candy from a department store (when the security guard was standing right next to him). Wooldoor ends up spending some time in jail and after he returns, he finds out that Spanky has taken his place in Wooldoor and Claras' Lemonade Stand! Traumatized, Wooldoor decides the only thing he can do ... is go back to the mall and keep stealing candy.

Clara discovers his disturbing plan to continue the vicious cycle of stealing and getting caught and tries to stop him. As Wooldoor runs all around the mall away from the cops, Clara tells him that this time she'll wait for him no matter how long he's gone ... after he's taken away by the cops, he's back out in just 15 minutes ... only to find that Clara left 10 minutes ago.

The show ends with a short cartoon featuring Judge Fudge.
  • Another great episode for a great show.

This episode was great with it poking fun at steriods and doing time in the security/lost and found lounge for minutes. Captain hero got hooked on steriods to walk in the aids walk but in the end he was a raging, small dick, big muscle loser. He went clean after he promised popeye he would when he was dying. Wooldoor spent and did time for stealing candy during which clara found a new partner for her lemonade stand -spanky-. when wooldoor got out he made a point of how different it was on the outside so he went back to the mall and went crazy to get thrown back into the security/lost and found lounge. All in all a great show with many cameos of other characters thrown in - popeye, olive oil, heman, peter and lois(family guy) and many others. this show was great hopefully next episode is a good one to.

  • Another Captain Hero episode and not a good one at all. Don't you just want to scream 'ENOUGH!!'

The main plot of the episode is once again focused on Captain Hero. They abuse his character way too much and even good plots start to look bad, when they annoy you and yes, Captain Hero became annoying ages ago. I have no idea why the producers/authors think that people want to see so much of him, after all, the show was suppose to have 8 main characters, not one main and 7 supporting. The plot itself wasn’t that good at all. There was some few really good moments (for example, when they show He-Man, The Thing and other butched-up comics’ characters taking steroids) but I frowned more than laughed. It’s a pity, because the beginning was good and unexpected and I actually hoped for some old DT/new DT action. I should have known better, there’s no place enough for 8, how would they fit 16?
The sub-plot, this time focused around Wooldoor, with some cameo from Spanky and Clara was even worse. Do they lose their touch or what!? There was one, literally, ONE moment that made me laugh (candy-shop theft, if you must know), the rest was so predictable, that all supposedly funny moments were ruined for me. I simple KNEW what would happened and that’s not good in any show, especially a show that’s suppose to be unpredictable.
Overall – one of the weakest episodes EVER.
  • Good episode revolving around Captain Hero.

I don't get why so many people hate this episode it was a good one. The jokes were funny, and it had a hilarious story. Hero is determined to win the AIDS walk, for his dear friend Popeye who had contracted the disease through sharing needles. Hero starts taking steroids, at the end during the walk, Hero ends up killing all the walkers with heat vision and other powers. He just wants to win and does'nt care what happened to everybody else, he even celebrated when he crossed the line first. Also Wooldoor got in trouble for stealing candy at the mall. Really good episode I enjoyed watching it.
  • Captain Hero is determined to win the AIDS walk, no matter how many steroids he must take to be the best walker around. Wooldoor gets in trouble at the mall for stealing some candy.

A friendly badminton competition against the former cast of Drawn Together reveals a shameful secret about Captain Hero: he is terrible at sports. He tries to drown his sorrows in lemonade at a lemonade stand that Clara and Wooldoor have set up, but no one wants to tolerate his drunken behavior. Foxxy comes by asking for someone to sponsor her in the upcoming AIDS walk, which gives Captain Hero an idea. Realizing that walking is something he\'s perfectly capable of, Hero tells Foxxy that he won\'t sponsor her; rather, he\'ll enter the AIDS walk himself and win it.

Foxxy tries to tell him that the AIDS walk is a charity event, not a competition, but Hero won\'t hear of it. He immediately begins training, only to run into another obstacle when he realizes he isn\'t even a champion walker; the elderly women at the mall can walk rings around him. He realizes he is in need of some outside help, which he finds at the mall\'s nutritional center when the employee there hooks him up with some steroids. The steroids make Hero\'s body big and powerful, but they also make him even more difficult for the other housemates to deal with than usual. After Foxxy finds out his secret, the housemates stage an intervention for him, which he responds to by killing everyone in a steroid-fueled rage.

Deciding he doesn\'t belong in the Drawn Together house anymore, Captain Hero decides to go somewhere he can be accepted and understood, and ends up befriending and moving in with Popeye. He and Popeye have a great time training together until Popeye suddenly dies of AIDS one day. Popeye tells Hero that he contracted the disease by sharing contaminated steroid needles. With his last dying breath, Popeye asks Captain Hero to get clean, and hopefully prevent others from suffering the same fate. Hero does just this, showing up at the AIDS walk completely restored to his old self. Hero ends up \"winning\" the AIDS walk completely clean by killing or horribly injuring all the other walkers, resulting in no money being generated for charity. Hero ignores the crying spokeswoman and walks off with his \"prizes\", the basket holding names for a raffle, and an AIDS quilt.

Meanwhile, Wooldoor is having fun running the lemonade stand with his good friend Clara, at least until Spanky Ham, playing the bad boy, induces Wooldoor to leave the lemonade stand behind and go with him on his motorcycle to the mall. The pair go to the mall candy store together, but as the two are in line, Wooldoor suddenly realizes that he doesn\'t have the money to pay for the candy he\'s holding. Spanky urges Wooldoor to just steal the candy- after all, that\'s what a cool person would do. Wooldoor panics and runs out with the candy in tow. After a showdown with the security guard, Wooldoor is caught and taken into custody in the mall security office. He is held there for a while and then let go, but once he gets out, he finds his whole world has changed, and he is unable to adjust to life on the outside again.

In an attempt to find some normality, he goes back to Clara at the lemonade stand, only to discover she couldn\'t wait for him, and has given his job away - to Spanky Ham, of all people. Wooldoor freaks out, and then finally decides that he cannot deal with life as a \"free man\". He must go back to the mall, repeat his crime, and be sent back to \"prison\" (actually, the Mall Security/Lost & Found Lounge).

He returns, and after going on a Looney Tunes-style crime spree, is caught again. Clara shows up to tell Wooldoor not to despair, that she\'ll wait for him this time, even if he\'s held in custody for 28 whole minutes. Wooldoor is let out for good behavior after 15 minutes, but when he tries to find Clara, he is told she left 10 minutes ago.
