A Champions League Outing
AIRED:
Stone's secret is out. Pregnant Jodie's feeling the strain and Stone faces ostracism at the club. At training, Jaws has always been dangerous. But now he's armed... Frank agrees to an interview with dodgy Journalist, Paul Hankin - thinking they are going to be talking about the Dragons' upcoming Champions League Quarter-Final 2nd Leg against Arsenal. However the conversation quickly turns to why Frank is living at the Grange and not at home with his wife. Paul tells him that a rent boy, Samuel Taylor has came forward to him to reveal his fling with Frank in the past and Paul gives Frank the chance to tell his side of the story. Frank denies the story but Paul knows he is lying and won't let it go. Lee goes to see Viv, who hasn't been into training since the defeat to Arsenal. Lee tells him that he can't hide away and that the goal Arsenal scored was unpreventable and asks him to come into training to work on tactics for the return leg but it seems Lee is chasing a lost cause. Lee returns to the changing room minus Viv and the lad's worry about him. Hammo interrupts to declare that Viv is outside on the training pitch, and that they should come and have a look at what he's doing. Viv has accurately marked out the goal they conceded against Arsenal and Viv makes them play the scenario again and again and again. Frank hasn't turned up for training, worried that the paper's have already printed his sordid story but is relieved when he can't find anything in the morning papers about it. Paul turns up at Jodie's and tells her what he told Frank - that someone has came forward admitting to having an affair with her husband. Jodie laugh's it off, saying it is probably some kiss-and-tell bimbo but Paul wipes the smile off her face when he tells her it was a rent boy. With no pictures to prove it, Jodie declares “no comment” and sends Paul on his way. Don shows him out and it seems that the two of them are in cahoots. Don came to Paul with the story determined to bring Frank down and get him out of his daughter's life forever. Don tells Jodie perhaps it would be better if they give the papers an interview as if she doesn't, they won't go away - they will just keep digging for more dirt and make both their lives hell. Frank arrives at Jodie's wanting to know if she said anything to Hankin. Jodie sends her father out of the room to give them a chance to talk. Frank asks her if he can move back in so that it looks like they are playing happy families. Jodie says that won't stop them digging for a story. The lads come and see Dean for some advice about Viv. They tell him what they did all morning at training and they don't think that's the best way to prepare for the biggest game of their lives. Dean tells them that they have to take control and there is nothing stopping them from holding their own private training sessions without Viv. Lee also tells them that he is going to move back in with Viv so that he can keep an eye on him. Lee meets Viv at Studs and lies to him, saying that he has split up with Shanice and asks if he can move back in with him knowing Viv can't refuse. When Lee gets his stuff and enters the flat he astounded when he sees that Viv has re-built 'The Wall' and also a full size subbuteo style layout of the Arsenal goal. Lee once again emphasises that the Arsenal goal was unstoppable and Viv should forget about it and start thinking of how they are going to overcome Arsenal in mid-week. Viv doesn't like his tone and tells him that if he wants to move back in, he'll have to put up with it. Frank arranges to meet back up with rent boy, Samuel Taylor and pleads with him to take his story back but the whole thing is a set up as Paul drives by and gets a few photo's of the two of them together. Frank returns home crying to Jodie and she decides to do something about it. She arranges for a lawyer to apply for an injunction to stop the story being printed and warns them that they are in for a long night as these injunctions can go right to the wire and tells them to prepare themselves for the worst. The two of them sit up all night and when the phone rings Frank can bring himself to answer it. Jodie answers it and the lawyer tells them that the judge agreed that the story not be printed and to say Frank is relieved is an understatement. However when the paper is delivered they are shocked that the story has been printed … but the picture of Frank has been blacked out. Lee wakes up early for the lads' secret training session. Viv hears Lee moving about and wonders why he is up so early. He follows him and realises what's going on. Furious that the lads would go behind his back and vows to teach them a lesson and goes to the boot of his car to get out a shotgun! He fires into the air and the lads run for cover, apart from Lee. Viv confronts Lee saying that he lied to him and made him look like a fool. He points the gun at Lee and asks him why he shouldn't kill him right there right then. Lee tells him if he does that he'll be dead, Viv will be in jail and Arsenal will be through to the Champions League Semi-Final's which makes Viv change his mind. At the grange, a representative from West Ham agrees a deal with Don, making him the new Director of Football of the Championship promotion chaser's. Paul meets him wanting a story on that as well but Don won't give him it. Paul is furious at Don, but Don pleads his innocence, saying that he never knew they would file for an injunction and challenges Hankin to find the proof of Frank's secret. The next day at training Viv turns up and apologises for his actions the day before but says he can't and won't change the way he is and asks if the lads can put up with him for the remainder of the season which they agree to. Hankin tracks Curtis down and makes up a story about Frank and Curtis playing about with rent boys and tricks Curtis into a confession that it wasn't him, only Frank. The next morning the story is printed, exposing Frank and making Curtis out as a traitor. The lad's turn against Curtis but Curtis says that he isn't getting the blame for it, saying that Frank did it and the way Hankin approached him, it was as if saying it was Frank or him and Curtis didn't want his name tarnished. Viv tells him that he would expect more from his captain but Curtis storms back saying that if Viv wasn't such a head case maybe they would have come to talk to him and that he is as much to blame as anyone. The lad's head for the coach to the Stadium for their game against Arsenal and are ambushed by the press on the way. Don consoles his daughter but she can't sit around at home and heads out to see Frank before the game. Frank enters the changing room and immediately feels shunned by his own team mates when Fletch asks him to get changed in the physic room away from the rest of the lads. When Viv hears about this he goes to see Frank and tells him that he can't play him tonight and it is nothing to do with his private life it is because of the state of his head. As Viv makes his team talk, Jodie storms in and attacks Curtis calling him every name under the sun. During their argument Curtis says it isn't his fault. Hankin tricked him and asks her how did Hankin know to come and talk to Curtis about it and that the only person he ever told was her father. It soon register's with Jodie that Don went to the papers to destroy her husband and the stress becomes all too much as Jodie suffers severe stomach pains and knows something is happening to her baby…moreless
