Don't get me wrong, I love DDD, I've known it since yesterday and haven't been able to stop watching it from that moment on. And I liked this episode. But it could have been so much more! DDD proved that it is able to stand on its own (congrats for the second season!) and that it can make something that could have easily been another Ally McBeal (idiotic cases), Ugly Betty (the strong female role with a good standard) or name a few. But it hasn't. It has been a standalone-series.
So why, why, why, would they recreate Legally Blonde? It is exactly that. Wanting to be on the case of a celebrity, that you know by heart. Getting first chair by that celebrity (who's on a murder trial also, by the way). Even the spa-refreshment of the celebrity in jail. It matches the movie almost to a T.
Please understand that I truly love this series, so don't hate me for stating this, but I guess that is the reason why I have been so thoroughly disappointed with this episode. After eleven episodes to establish itself, it did not need to do this.moreless
