  • A pilot that did not yet show the brilliance of the series.

    "Good"
In this pilot we get the background of the series. A television station is about to be taken over by Sir Roysten Merchant, a thinly veiled parody of Rupert Murdoch. The different characters are introduced efficiently but some have not yet been fully formed. George seems slightly more intelligent that he will turn out to be in the rest of the series. Henry is not as outrageous as we would discover him to be. Only Damien appears to have been born as a fully formed character. My biggest problem is the absence of two important protagonists: Sally Smedley and Joy. The cluelessness of the former and the ruthlessness of the latter were a big part of the success of the show.moreless
