Chanticleer was also the name of the hero in the Don Bluth film, Rock-A-Doodle. It was taken originally from Geoffrey Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales". Chanticleer, a noble but lovelorn rooster, was the dubious hero in a story told by a Monk, one of the pilgrims on the journey.
