  • Quotes

    • Centurion: We're picking up a strange pulse signature. I've determined it's either a conga line or the thrombosis ray is aboard their ship.
X2: Oh, no! And I told everyone
the thrombosis ray was only a clever ruse. We must call off the attack on Earth and make peace before it's too late!
Centurion: Hey, maybe it's just a conga line.
      X2: Yeah, right.

  • Notes

    • In "The New Cadet" when the Martians were destroying the forest the machine they used is similar to the machine in the 20th Century Fox movie "Ferngully, the last Rainforest".

    • Kelly Ripa is billed as "Special Guest Star."

    • "The New Cadet" is "Chapter: 10.70"; "The Love Duck" is "Chapter: 63.10".

    • Toward the end of "The New Cadet," the new cadet has her eyes set on her new obsession, the Martian Commander. Among her photos, is one of X-2 in traditional striped prison garb. Perhaps inferring that X-2 might have served some jail time?

  • Allusions

    • DD: Adios, Needy Gonzales.
Dodgers' line in The New Cadet is a play on the name of Speedy Gonzales, a super-fast cartoon character who once played opposite Daffy Duck in the old cartoons.

    • Few could miss the obvious references to The Love Boat, including similar sounding theme music while passengers are boarding the Luxuria. But just before this, while Dodger's ship was docking, one could hear music reminscent of "Also Spracht Zarathustra" from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

    • DD: Smiles, everyone. Smiles.

In the original Fantasy Island, Mr. Roarke (Ricardo Montalban) used this line to welcome his guests in every episode. Oddly enough, Daffy once played the Roarke role in Daffy Duck's Fantasy Island, which was one of several movie-length compilations of old Looney Tunes shorts interspersed with new footage.

    • DD: It's ... it's ... rabbit stew!

In the movie Fatal Attraction, Michael Douglas's character finds that the woman (Glenn Close) he slept with and who is now obsessed with him, boiled his family's pet rabbit.

    • -: -
The scene where the Martains are destroying the forest is similar to a scene in the movie "Ferngully- The Last Rainforest".
