When visiting the Star Trek convention Cornfed and Duckman are dressed up as Spock and Kirk respectively; later in the fourth season episode "Where No Duckman Has Gone Before" they assume these roles on the starship Enterprise.
Cornfed revealed he was a virgin during episode 4, "Psyche," yet Duckman seems surprised when Cornfed tells him this.
Ken Burns: Ken Burns is credited as one of the makers of the documentary about Cornfed's heritage. He is an Emmy award winning documentary filmmaker. The style of the segment with archive footage and interviews resembles his work in real life.
Amok Time / Duck Amok: The name of the episode, and Cornfed's need to mate, is a reference to "Amok Time" from the very first Star Trek series. In the episode it is Spock who, every seven years, must return to his home world of Vulcan to find a mate else he will undergo extreme pain. It is also a reference to the Warner Bros. cartoon Duck Amok, in which Daffy Duck is harrassed by an unseen animator that turns out to be Bugs Bunny.
