Although this episode is called "Diefenbaker's Day Off" the new Diefenbaker is only a sideshow. This episode is about the moral dilemma Fraser has to face trying to help a 6-year-old girl.
But first let's talk about how I fell in love with the "new dog" ... Diefenbaker ... although Fraser told him that without being registered he wasn't allowed to go outside Diefenbaker did it and had some nice adventures on his own. I esp. liked the part where he realized that a dog catcher is trying to get him.
Back to Frazer and Ray ... in this episode Ray is really only a sidekick with not a lot to say all through the episode, unless you count his box-fight. Frazer meets an American woman who is a reporter in disguise as a nurse who tries to pin dirt on Frazer for helping the little girl's father Charlie. Frazer finds out that Charlie is an ex-boxer who tries to make some money by insurance fraud, but he's also the victim because the main money goes to the people in the back.
Overall strong episode with some good dialogue.
