"Perfect"

Up until this point in the serious, Ray mostly functions as the clown to Frasers straight-laced mountie. This is the first episode where he gets to show his serious side. The best part of this episode is the end, when Ray beats Zuko up. He knows he's risking his life, but he doesn't care. He wants to stand-up to the 'family' he's been hiding from his whole life. This is the first of several references to Ray having problems with organized crime, and eventually leads him to go undercover to try and bring the mob down.

This is also the first of several "Fraser gets the snot beaten out of him" episodes. Trust me, it's painful to watch. My only complaint is that when Ray goes to confront Frank just a few scenes later, he doesn't even mention the beating to Zuko. He does mention a friend Zuko pummled with a basketball years ago, but not his best friend and partner, who just had his face caved in? Seemed to me he could have at least thrown in a 'this one's for Benny' as he punched him.

This episode is also remembered for the infamous 'did they or didn't they' as Francesca Vecchio shows up at Fraser's apartment at the very end wearing...well, not much and propostions him. Well, in case you're wondering, they don't tell us. It is only years later that we find out, (not surprisingly) that Fraser really is the 'perfect' gentleman. They did not.moreless
