      • Although, after his briefboycott of the show during the second season,Ben Jones had decided with producers that Cooter be clean shaven from the third season onwards, in this episode Cooter appears sporting a full beard, the only instance of this after the second season, and much thicker than it's been seen previously.

      • As well as John Schneider being away for this episode, Rick Hurst (Cletus) is also absent.

      • John Schneider (Bo) does not appear in this episode, making it one of the very few episodes of the entire show's run not to feature two Duke Boys (either Bo & Luke; or Coy & Vance in the fifth season). There are two sixth season episodes that also feature Luke but not Bo.

With Bo's absence, Daisy joins Luke for much of the story, although it is also notable in that the Dukes aren't at the forefront of proceedings as usual, with the majority of screen-time given over to Boss (and Rosco) and Abe.

      • When Luke and Daisy are chasing Benny, Daisy is wearing tennis shoes. When she falls in the quicksand she's wearing high heels.

      • When Luke and Daisy stop at Rosco's to grab Flash the mail box says Rosco P. Coltrain & Mother. Seems Rosco still lives with his mom. Seems to this is the first time we see what Rosco's house looks like.

      • Flash doesn't bark at Abraham Lincoln Hogg the way she does at his identical twin brother.

      • Sorrell Booke is credited in this episode both as playing Boss Hogg as per-usual on the opening credits, and as Special Guest Star playing Abraham Lincoln Hogg on the closing credits.

      • Bo does not appear in this episode because John Schneider was filming the made-for-TV movie Dream House. The Balladeer states in the narration that Bo is away for Marine Corps Reserve Duty. Like so many other things in the series, the fact that Bo is a member of the Marine Reserves is never mentioned again.
