  • Quotes

    • Bo: Alright, Enos. Now I'm gonna show you one card trick. Now I want you to pick a card.
Enos: Oh, I don't believe in gambling, Bo.
Rosco: Enos, it's not gambling. Would you pick a card. We're gonna be here all day.
      Bo: You got it?
      Enos: Yup, two of hearts.
Rosco: Enos, you'r not supposed to tell him the card.
Bo: Okay, Enos, let's try this one more time. And don't tell me what it is. Now pick a card. You got it?
Enos: Yup, can I ask a question?
      Bo: Sure.
Enos: You know the black three leaf clover. Is that clubs or spades?
Rosco: Enos, don't help him anymore than you have to.
Bo: (laughing) Give me that, Enos. Let's try this again.

  • Notes

    • This is the episode which features the world record jump over the river which is seen in the opening credits from series two onwards. The sequence was also recycled in several other episodes.

    • This is the first episode that Rosco adds the phrase "I love it, I love it!!" to his goofy laugh.

    • Pat Cranshaw would return as Doc Petticord in In This Corner, Luke Duke. Cranshaw's most famous role is that of elderly frat boy Blue in 2000's Old School.

    • Other than being white, Sheriff "Hammerhead" Ragsdale seems to be very much an early version of Sheriff Little, who appears re-occurringly from the 3rd season.

    • This classic episode showcases just how far the series has come in one (half) season; things are played more on the side of comical now, and all of the characters have found their personalities that they would retain for the rest of the run.

    • Rosco's infamous laugh is used on at the end of the closing credits for the first time with this episode (it is the only episode to have both the laugh and this version of closing credits).
