  • Bo and Luke? Racing against each other?

    10
Bo and Luke sign up for a race not knowing that the loser of the race will give up their pink slip to their car to Boss Hogg. Cooter also signs up for the race but he put out a second mortgage on his farm to pay for the entry. But when Cooter gets injured Luke agrees to race his car in the race, which meant racing against Bo. Of course, some rivalry comes between the two but they put aside their differences and try to beat Boss, who is having Rosco race. Ma Harper, a gambler, and her three sons put money riding on Rosco so they do anything in their power to make sure that he wins the race. Ma Harper steals Cooter's racing car and Bo and Luke go after it. When they find it one of Ma Harper's sons is there and Bo and Luke fight him and finally push him down a hill. Then they get ready and get into the cars and head over to the race. But on the way there Bo hits a drop that messes up the General. Bo and Luke are close together through the race. At the end of the race all the General's forward gears go out. Bo puts the General into reverse and heads toward the finish line. Then the radiator in Cooter's car goes and Luke stops. Then here comes Rosco and he goes over a jump that bumps into Cooter's car. With that push and the General in reverse Bo and Luke both won the race with a dead even tie. They never found out who was the better driver and they never was going to find out. Now I like that, don't you?moreless

    • This is the second time that a car has had a problem with braking and the Duke boys have had to stop the car. This previously happened in The Legacy.

    • The Hazzard County Derby which features in this episode also featured in the recent Dukes of Hazzard movie remake.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Bo: Well, I'll tell you, if it wasn't for Boss Hogg winding up with the General Lee after the race, I think I'd just forfeit and save you the embarrassment.
Luke: Hey, look, don't do me no favors. Your head's been getting a little too big for your hatband lately. It's time we take you down a size or two.
      Bo: You're welcome to try.

    • Uncle Jesse: Cooter, put himself out of commission to help you boys, didn't he?
      Bo: Yes, sir.
Uncle Jesse: You're gonna have to return the favor. Since you're driving General Lee, Luke there will drive Cooter's car.
Luke: You mean race against Bo? That don't hardly seem right. We were always a team.
Uncle Jesse: There's a first time for everything. Besides, you owe it to Cooter.
