Metcalf: I have to hand it to you, Major. You are one brave soul.
JT: That's 'cause I don't have a whole lot to lose. But you, sir, you have plenty. And when I find out exactly who's responsible for this, someone is going to die. You know, it might even be me, but I'm going to find out. You know, Mr. Metcalf, if I was guilty of betraying one of my own, I would just do myself right through the skull, simple and messy, but that's just me. Have a good night, sir.
FBI Agent Thompson: You were trained well, Major.
Tisnewski: Excuse me?
FBI Agent Thompson: You beat the machine.
Tisnewski: You can't beat that machine.
FBI Agent Thompson: And in Special Forces, they trained you to lie.
Tisnewski: We're trained to misrepresent the truth with no intention to deceive. Except, of course, when we're telling the truth.
In this episode, a reporter reveals the identity of an undercover CIA agent (Angie) which gets her killed. This is a reference to the scandal involving political consultant Karl Rove who in 2005 was indicted for revealing to a Time reporter the identiy of undercover agent Valerie Plame and her husband, thus endangering them.
