The Oscar nominations are out, and Dreamgirls leads with 8, although most of those are technical, and Babel is the film to watch with 7 nominations; Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, and Kate Winslet, all nominated for Best Actress, have a total of 28 nominations among them; Eddie Murphy gets a first-time nod for his role in Dreamgirls; Canadian nominations include Ryan Gosling, with a nod for Best Actor, the first Canadian to get the Oscar nod for this in 60 years, as well as Deepa Mehta, Torill Kove, and Paul Haggis; in Oscar gossip, Beyonce may have to sing at the Oscars to negate the bad press she's gotten from the Golden Globes, and with all the Babel nods, Brangelina should definitely be walking the Oscar red carpet; Oscar snubs include Dreamgirls for Best Pic and Director, as well as no nod for Borat, and Golden Globe winners Adam Beach, Emily Blunt, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Jason Reitman have all been ignored by Oscar; at the Sundance Festival, Lainey talks with Ryan Reynolds, Nathan Fillion, James Franco and Keri Russell; Ben talks with Jennifer Garner, Timothy Olyphant and Kevin Smith about their new film, Catch And Release; Ben reviews Smokin' Aces, set to open this weekend; e-Talk takes a sneak-peek at Kelly Rowan's In God's Country, which airs tonight; closing video: Listen from Dreamgirls.moreless
