The show really benefited from executive producer Will Ferrell's guest spot. The comedy legend added some much needed life to the show, and was responsible for the majority of the funny lines in this episode.
Eastbound and Down really feels like an early 90's comedy film with the directing, and just general writing. Acting has undergone such a transition since then and lame cliches are not as cute as they were back then. Somebody really needs to relay that message to the writers of Eastbound and Down.
Danny McBride's character Kenny Powers was a little bit more believable this week, but it's just not a personality that fans can get behind, and you need at least one for every show to be successful.
