HBO has officially confirmed that its original comedy series Eastbound and Down, has been renewed for a second season.

Quick question. I`m only on episode 3, watching in Scotland...I see only six episodes were made in the first season. I take it this is not common for the States ? Other comedies I have enjoyed in the past from across the Atlantic seem to have a fair amount of episodes per series, is this perhaps because it is not a `set` comedy and much of it on location and in real buildings or perhaps because many of the people associated are working in Hollywood also ?

Strange to see just the six but then many of the better scripted and directed comedies in Britain are only six per series...
