Do you think that EastEnders promotes teenage drinking or binge drinking?

sometimes, but i think teenagers who are going to blame their drinking problems on television shows have some issues, and need someone to tell them a few home truths!!! by the way, while we are on the subject of drinking i think its totally crazy how characters can get angry, then go a knock back A WHOLE BOTTLE of vodka and other hard drinks, i mean sometimes even little sips can be rough, so taking big swigs of alcoholic must be mad!

Very sensitive subject there.  The thing is soaps portray real life so it should address some of the aforementioned subjects if handled tactfully.  Eastenders has a bar, therefore people are going to drink, I myself live on a street with a few pubs in walkign distance, so I go for a drink occassionally - can't blame the soaps tho.  There;s a bar in Corrie, so people will go for a drink, there's a bar in Home and Away, which did handle a teenage drinking problem very effectively a few years back.  People should take a look at their peers rather than blaming the soaps. What next?  will someone bury their husband under the patio and blame it on Brookside because they saw it on there a few years ago?

This person has asked this question on like 5 different boards. I dont think you can blame a soap for alcoholism.
