TVF, based in the United Kingdom, specializes in factual documentaries of which Eating Wild is a perfect example. The single forty-seven minute show originally aired on January 1, 2004. The setting for the episode is Northern Canada. The premise is that on the way to a wilderness fishing cabin, the cast's plane goes down in the remote northern woods. The group of survivors has brought no food, so all that is available is what can be hunted or foraged from the Canadian wilds. The group includes two professional chefs, two Natives, a food critic and two hunters who've been put through the course "Survival in the Bush", operated by survival specialist Gino Ferri. Three teams are formed all with the same goal, to create a three-course dining experience from what can be foraged in the wild. Upon completion of the task, the group gathers at a remote resort to enjoy the fruit of their labors, and compare notes on their experiences.moreless
