  • Good wrestling company; bad show

    7.0
Extreme Championship Wrestling was a great wrestling company, however, ECW on TNN wasn't a great show. TNN wanted to use ECW on TNN to hype Roller Jam, a show on after ECW on TNN. They also put a lot of restrictions on ECW, which made booker Paul Heyman upset and book outlandish and strange storylines. One one occasion, TNN wanted an hour of new wrestling, Heyman gave them Rob Van Dam vs Jerry Lynn from 1999. Towards the end of the series, Heyman was busy trying to find ECW a new TV deal and was working on the remake of the film "Rollerball," so booking went into the hands of Tom Laughlin (aka Tommy Dreamer) and Mark LoMonaco (aka Buh Buh Ray Dudley.) With Heyman's focus gone from the show, it suffered ratings. When World Wrestling Federation moved its programming from USA Network to TNN, ECW On TNN was cancelled, due to a clause in WWF's contract that stated no other wrestling promotions could have a TV show on TNN while WWF was on the network.
