  • Hardy Boyz vs. MNM, Extreme Elimination Chamber...and more.

I am sorry to say that I paid $40 to watch this crap on PPV. ECW first fot PPV in early 1997. From that PPV, Barely Legal, to the final PPV of the "true" ECW, Guilty as Charged 2001, I was never disappointed like this. T think there were seven matches...that's how bad it was, I can barely remember it. There were two memorable matches. Matt and Jeff Hardy put on a great match against Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury (MNM). This is what can be expected of these four great wrestlers. These four guys are the epitome of what the new school should be. There were either four or five matches after the Hardyz vs. MNM...they all sucked. These matches featured New Breed guys like Elisiah Burke and Sylvester Terkai. Although I knid of like Burke...Terkai should have stayed in mixed martial arts (which he has since returned to). Also, ECW originals and great wrestlers like Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke got jobbed out for guys that probably don't have more than three years experience...to me, this is a disgusting miscarriange of wrestling justice and shows no respect to the veterans. The other memorable match was the Extreme Elomination Chamber...which actually wasn't as good as the four regular Elimination Chamber matches that proceeded it. Bobby Lashley defeated Big Show to win the ECW World Championship...wasn't too happy about this eithermoreless
  • An ECW PPV with only one good match that had no ECW wrestlers in it! O know, that's not a good start for the new ECW brand.

The best match of the night didn't contain one ECW wrestler and that is saying a lot about the ECW brand. MNM vs The Hardy's had it all, great technical wrestling, high flying and charisma which lifted the crowd.

The other cards were rather boring, Daivari and Balls Mahoney looked good. But some of the other wrestlers looked terrible. Sylvester Terkay wasn't used properly and that annoyed me for Terkay is a good wrestler.

The main event wasn't that brilliant either. It just made ECW look more like the WWE and there was hardly any originality. I like the look of CM Punk and wished he had won the belt. Seeing Lashley spear the Big Show and Big Show not get up from a soft looking spear was annoying. That made the match looked more rigged than it should of done!

At the end of the night ECW didn't show what it had. The SmackDown and Raw stars made the ECW stars look bad. RVD and CM Punk tried to make the main event look better, but it didn't help. It's easy to see why Haymen got fired a week later! I just hope they get some decent writers on ECW at some point in the future.moreless
  • This PPV was really bad.

    6.3
Well personally I don’t care much for ECW. I only like about three wrestlers throughout the whole thing, and they are: CM Punk, Bobby Lashly, and the former Big Show. But enough of those views, lets get into why December to Dismember was a dumb PPV. But let’s see what was good about it first. The first match between the Hardyz and MNM was an awesome fight. It was heart pounding plus Melina got kicked in the face by Nitro, that was just brilliant! And when Kelly Kelly got tricked in the ring and got beat up was funny, and the small appearance of Sandman was great. Now what was bad.…? Well the former teacher, Striker is a dumb ass. The fact that Sabu was apparently beat up was a lame excuse for not putting him in the elimination chamber. The elimination chamber wasn’t all that good. They barely used the weapons, except for RVD who did some series damage. Big Show barely used his barbed-wire bat cause he was too busy getting beat up. Overall, the first match with the Hardyz and MNM was the best, but after that you could just shut it off.moreless
