Cartoon Network properties are going large.
The network has announced a new deal with toymaker Mattel to produce toys and games based on the network's animated titles. At the same time, a separate deal with Chocolate Industries record will put a mini hip-hop album on Cartoon Network's Web site.
As part of a new multiyear deal between Cartoon Network and Mattel, the toymaker will create vehicles, action figures, board games, electronics, and video games based on Cartoon Network properties. The deal focuses on series' aimed at 6- to 11-year olds, such as Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends and Ed, Edd, n' Eddy.
The agreement also gives Mattel a first-look option on any new Cartoon Network properties. The first toys from the new deal are expected to arrive at retailers in 2007.
