For some reason, Kevin can take on Rolf in this episode, when on a regular basis, Rolf would've flattened him effortlessly.
Ed clones himself in this episode to help build part of the elevator. His clone only appears once.
One of the things Ed brings in is a beam. However, how could it fit in exactly?
Th Eds should have died when they went into outer space on the elevator. They also shouldn't have been able to talk to one another up there, since there is no air in space.
A ladder connects two points of the elevator. However, when the camera pans to the elevator, the Eds aren't shown going up it.
When the Eds are in space, Edd is hanging from a crescent moon, instead of a full moon, like he should be. The moon would only appear crescent depending on how it is viewed from Earth. It would never be crescent in space.
Eddy: (On the phone) Your fired. (Short pause) Call you back, mom.
Edd: EDCO is a non profit organization? Eddy: See? I...NO PROFIT?!!
Ed: (Runs into non-existant office wall) Whoops! Forgot about the wall.
Kevin: What's with the 'Car 54' get-up Rolf? Afraid someone might steal your box? Rolf:Rolf is the keeper of security! State your business!
Eddy:(while building a card castle) Progress report, Mr.D. Double-D: Well, Mr. Eddy, morale is up, effiency is up, and employee productivity is... (sees Kevin walking down driveway) Not good, not good, not good, not good, not good, not good. Kevin's walking DOWN the driveway. (Eddy's card castle falls down)
Jonny: Plank photocopied his butt!
Jonny: Hey guys! Did everyone get to see Plank's butt?
Double-D:(Being held up by Ed) Ed put me down. Ed: Ah ah ah thats UP Double-D. Double-D: Of course, what was I thinking.
Kevin: Talk to me, Nazz. How 'bout you and me go DOWN to the lane and... Double-D: What's UP, Kevin? Kevin: Up? I was just getting DOWN with Nazz. Double-D: No down here, Kevin. Why, it's only UP, UP, UP here at EDCO. Kevin: EDCO? Sounds like a DOWNer to me.
Eddy: Ed! What're you up to? Ed: Uh, is that a quiz or something?
Eddy: (Referring to Johnny) Hey, Double-D, does the Never-Ending Forehead have an appointment?
Rolf: May you break out the lather and toss a turnip up your nose!
Double-D: Nazz, get Jimmy for me. Nazz: (doing her nails) Sorry, Mr. D, but I'm up to my neck with "filing"!
Ed: Fe, fi, fo, fum! I smell Chunky Puffs!
Kevin was the only one who appeared in this episode and didn't work at Edco.
Kevin flips Rolf in this episode.
It is unknown what EDCO actually does.
Jobs the Kids Had: Ed: Elevator builder Edd: Vice president of Edco Eddy: President of Edco Jimmy: Interior designer Nazz: Assistant/Filer Rolf: Security Guard Jonny: Mail Sorter
Sarah was absent in this episode.
Running gag: 1) Everybody saying "up". 2) Someone asking Eddy if what is happening is a quiz or something.
This marks the Eds second trip into space. First time was in "A Pinch to Grow an Ed"
When it shows the Eds going up the elevator at the end of the episode, there's a small black coffin amongst the stuff that says: R.I.P. Evil Tim
They say "UP" exactly 67 times.
Kevin: What's with the "Car 54" get-up, Rolf? This is a reference to the 1960s TV sitcom "Car 54, Where Are You?", a police-drama spoof featuring the escapades of two bungling police officers, Gunther Toody and Francis Muldoon. There was also a less-than-successful movie of the same name, made in 1994 and based loosely on the show.
Ed: Cartoon Clone Ed carrying the large building piece with a clone of himself on the side opposing him is a reference to a classical cartoon gag where a character carrying something heavy would do the same thing.
Title: They Call Him Mr. Ed
Mr. Ed was a classic black-and-white TV show about a talking horse named Mr. Ed. The theme song contains the phrase: "They call him Mr. Ed."
In addition, at the beginning of the episode is a picture of a man with the face of a horse.
