Ed and Carol finally get married in the bowling alley.
Series creators Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman made cameo appearances in the wedding scene.
Reverend Karpf, the minister who was to have performed the circus-themed wedding, was named for series Co-Executive Producer Merrill Karpf.
Ed: I've always believed that life is divided into two parts: what is and what should be. And that, with a lot of effort, some hard work, and maybe a little luck, there are moments in your life when the two parts touch. When what is and what should be are the same. I guess I can't help but think that standing here next to Carol, next to my wife, and in front of all of you friends and family, all of us here inside this crazy, beautiful, dumpy old bowling alley which I love, I can't help but think that this is one of those times. And I thank you.
Nancy (when she sees Mike about to disrobe during his toast): We're gonna have to move!
Mike: Oh, Ed. You got a good woman there.
Shirley (at Carol's Bachelorette party): I barely know any of you people.
Phil: I'm the Reverend Stubbs from TheExhaultedChurchoftheUniverse.com.
Shirley: Ever since Fran Dresher used it in an Old Navy commercial, African-American 'izzle'-speech has been on a rapid decline.
Ed: We want to be like the wedding equivalent of Cheers and right now it's more like Coupling.
Warren (to Mark): You were more likeable when you weighed 500 pounds.
This is the final episode and the series finale.
Shortly before this episode aired, Julie Bowen appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn and presented a clip in which a male stripper performed for Carol at the bachelorette party. This scene ended up getting cut out.
The series was officially cancelled in May 2004.
