For those who do not know what 'The View' is, it is a talk show with 4 lady hosts. Check the rest out yourself.

Anyway, I watched 'The View' this afternoon and while it was a discussion of the coming Awards, Whoopi said, "While we're doing this, can I get something off my chest?...ABC, what are you thinking? You have cancelled 2 great shows! You have cancelled 'Dirty Sexy Money' which aggravates me to no end and Eli Stone. Excuse me ABC, I know I work for you but this is a great show, great characters, we care about them, what the hell are you thinking? These are 2 particularly well done, well shot, well written shows that are different from everything else and shoop! (waved her hands in the air)". Sherri Shepherd said, " But you know it's so funny, like Joy said, in this economy with 'Dirty Sexy Money' they had like 15 cast members, it's a big budget-". Whoopi Goldberg cut in, " You know what? (stared straight into the camera) Listen, I can see what you are all doing there at ABC. You could have held those 2 shows and a lot of others stuff you could have got rid of ". Joy Behar replied, " They should get Blagojevich to raise some money for them". "That's right," Whoopi said.

My hat off to you ladies. It's good to know that we, the public, are not the only ones that think so.

It is nice to here them say that. We need more support from celebrities. Hopefully this'll help a little. Eli Stone just can't be canceled

I totally agree with gekipink. It's great to have someone like Whoopi stand up for a great show like Eli Stone (god, oh god, did ABC really cancel this?) although at this point it seems too late. Who knows, I've never actually heard that Eli Stone was cancelled technically -- I just think it was not exactly on the schedule for the Winter or Spring (although I'm sure that doesn't mean anything). Although I could do without Whoopi supporting Dirty Sexy Money because it seems to water down a good show with support from one that is not so-good.

I don't watch Dirty sexy money. My mom doesn't watch the show but she likes the name of the show.

Yes, ABC has been particularly bad recently. After several years of having almost nothing at all worth watching, they got Alias, Lost, Housewives, and so on. It looked like they were making a comeback, but then they ruined it again last season. They got several good shows, and cancelled them all.

Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, Dirty, Sexy, Money, Nine, Six Degrees, DayBreak, Life on Mars, and October Road were all terrific shows that were interesting. They were all also cancelled to the great ire of fans. Another thing they have in common is that they are all serials. Unfortunately they do not have the critical qualities in common with Lost (which has gotten pretty bad after a while) and Housewives (which is still actually holding up pretty well). If I remember correctly, even Betty is cancelled. It seems that only Housewives, Grey's, and Private Practice are surviving, which makes ABC seem more like the W network.

Fortunately, while cancelling great shows, ABC has at least been letting them wrap up properly. I have watched the finales of DayBreak, Life on Mars, Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone and have been pleased with all of them. They had very satisfactory endings, so I have forgiven ABC for killing those shows.
