I though this show was promising, I was wrong. Once again (probably by the million time) we have the same plot... Dumb girl with good intentions messes things up, and no one is there to save the day.... Talking about being unoriginal... What a disappointment, this show promised to be so good, and now it is just a cliche. I will give this show one more chance, maybe it was just a glitch but I trully think the writers should stop copying bad writing from the past, and start being creative... Well hopefully after this very long vacation (strike) they will.
After again having a vision, this time of a children's choir and a plane chasing him, Eli takes a case of a Mexican couple and works together with the inexperienced Maggie.

Fun episode seeing Eli back from his spiritual journey. It was good watching how Eli would balance his new life with his cutthroat law firm. The case was good and a touch of realism Eli didn't really win which was a nice touch. We also got to see more of his quirky little partner and possible romantic link in the future. In her case it was very funny watching Eli insult then come with hat in hand remembering he's a new person. Also a healthy dose of the herbalist and his insights into faith and philosophy. Good episode I enjoyed the expounded view of Eli and those around him.
While I loved the pilot and am still going to watch the series on a regular basis, I was not too happy with Eli helping illegals staying stay in our country. You might go ahead and think I'm prejudice, I'm not. I'm just having a hard time with so many illegals from ALL over the world coming. It's not that hard to become legal, just do it. I've helped spouses of foreign countries learn english to do so. I did think it hilarious that Eli's boss was singing. That was Way too out of character for him. Can't wait to see next weeks episode.
Eli Stone, a ruthless lawyer looking out only for himself and financial gain, suddenly develops a strange element of morality and conscience when a brain aneurism begins to dictate which cases he will take. This episode finds Eli plagued by a by-plane.
After the Pilot episode, I had high hopes for this quirky little show. The characters appear interesting enough, each with their own distinct personalities and perhaps personifications of human faults and strengths.
But, I can see myself growing quite weary of the premise quite quickly. It's a formulaic show- the hallucinations (audio and visual)- seem to guide Eli into making the decisions about which cases he is to take.
Some people he confides in feel he is a prophet. Others are just supportive friends, while others (including family and fiance) are concerned, chastising, and confused.
In this most recent episode, Eli is plagued by a by-plane which leads him to take the case of an immigrant Mexican couple suing their company for dangerous chemical exposure. It's a no-win situation and needless to say Eli and a gung-ho junior partner lose the trial.
This may be the primary case, but we soon find that the Mexican couple were conned into believing they were Americans by a "notorio". Eli manages to save them from deportation, and, through his visions possibly reunite a child (put up for adoption as a mere baby) with his mother.
There's almost a sense of Quantum Leap to the show. Entering a different sense of reality with every episode, not knowing what the clues mean, and trying to figure out the insight of the hallucinations, Eli goes day by day feeling his way through an unfamiliar world.
I will, of course, continue to watch the show to see if/how it evolves. But something tells me I may become quite bored with the formula and end up just not caring enough about the characters and their foibles.
Eli Stone is such a hip new show, it's interesting and fun. I'm really enjoying all of the quirks of the characters and the storylines. I absolutely love Eli's assistant's one-liners. The writers make her lines witty and funny ... and Ms. Devine is absolutely perfect for the role. A match made in heaven. I nearly fell over laughing when Victor Garber broke into song. I have absolutely LOVED Victor Garber ever since I saw him in Titanic. I'm so happy to see him in a new great show. I was a little concerned that after the first episode I would be bored by the premise of the show, but I think it just got better so I can't wait until next week. Good Show.
