Eli Stone

A good episode, if only for revealing something more of the relationship between Eli and Maggie who end up in bed together! The opposing Teams of Lawyers have a tough time with the Judge in the case of stolen artwork. The Judge is an old flame of Matt Dowd (Sam Jeager) and he apparently dumped her in an email saying that he was joining the FBI. Matt and Taylor end up in Prison tegether for contempt.



The Acupuncturist Doctor Chen towards the end of the show reveals to Nathan that he did the pain thingy procedure on Eli's father just a week before he died! Dr Chen and Nathan go to Eli's apartment and tell him that a copy of his fathers journal still exists and then that the procedure done by Doctor Chen may have caused his fathers demise. As I'm sure pretty much every fan is, I'm upset that the show is ending. However, I was happy to see a new episode. I think it brought some of the best aspects of the show together. We see more of Eli and Maggie with their constant bantering. Together with Matt & Taylor, they bring a great comedic performance. However, the Matt and his ex storyline did seem a little far fetched with the way she acted in court. I was glad to see that the story is moving forward with all four characters. Taylor has moved on from Eli and is investing herself more and more with Matt and their child. With Maggie & Eli also taking a step forward, it was a little upsetting to almost see them taking two steps back. Dr. Chen, as always, delivered was great and together with Nathan, we delved deeper into the Stone dad. It would have been great to see a little more of Patti but her outing with Jordan is helping out both characters in the long run. Overall, a great episode and can't wait to see the rest.

Great show. So glad to see it back on the air. Really have missed Eli! Great story line and positive characters. Glad to see things might be happening for Eli and Meggie. They are the typical young couple with getting close and then being at odds. So glad Taylor is finally letting Eli go and really falling in love with Matt. They are more suited for each other. Would love to see the four working more cases together or against each other...sort of good lawyer, bad lawyer plot. Nathan needs to work more with Eli to help him to overcome.

This episode is focused on the relationships between Matt and Taylor and Eli and Maggie, as they all converge on Sonoma because of a witness to a case they are working on from different sides. Matt's old flame is there and it leads to a lot of uncomfortable and in my opinion implausible situations. It's one thing to ask audiences to suspend disbelief about Eli's gift, i have no problem with that. But i still expect the characters' actions and motivations to make sense within the universe they live in, and i found the portrayal of the judge's behaviour to be a bit ridiculous. I think season one was much better - season two has been too soapy, the characters have been painted into corners, and, although i know some people don't want to hear this, i think maybe it was time to wrap this one up... sorry!

Maggie and Eli sleep together! That's what the original 1 sentence synopsis for this episode obviously was, and in all honesty may I say 'About time'. Truth is that last episode was one of the worst pieces of television I watched all week - it was over sentimental and made no sense to the ongoing plot. In particular I hated the Beth (Ned's fiance) loves Eli part. It's clear earlier in the season they were going for Eli and Maggie and thankfully we return to that and with a little fun thrown in for good measure.



This time everything is about couples, this underlying theme running through the episode helps it rather well. Matt and Taylor's baby problems are forgot and we get back to a cheeky but loving couple. Just so happens the Judge is Matt's angry Ex, who quite unprofessionally holds him in contempt of court, locking him up and then later Taylor as well. This although stupid was fun. Something the show has been lacking recently.



Jordan is feeling bad about his divorce and not wanting to go to a charity benefit because he feels down. He asks Patti to join him only to bump into his Ex and her new partner. Patti tells him he needs to make amends. This may be the stalest thread but at least it's not over-sentimental. Patti is as always gutsy while Jordan is nicely portrayed as someone who needs guidance.



The major running thread (although pretty in the background here) involves the fact that Eli due to the dark arts technique (nahatchi or whatever) now has two Aneurysms. The notebook and the not really all that fantastic revelation that Dr Chen could have inadvertently killed Eli's father by performing it on him, should have packed more punch however.



The best part of the episode though concerns Eli and Maggie getting it on. They are flirty throughout the episode and bicker alot. Maggie has come a long way since we first met her and she in her confidence is the one that comes on most strong. These two should be together and time apart has obviously made them appreciate that. New backstory of when they first met is also inserted really well. The case of the week really has no relevance overall and is thankfully not preachy. It just serves to get our characters where they need to be. One thing I will say about the episode though is that, although pivotal, it feels a little flat. In other words they could have had far more fun with it. Eli's vision's need to return as well although I have a sneaking suspicion that while the visions are away, father's notebook comes out to play.
