Episode Recap

Eli meets with his doctor about removing his aneurysm and is assured he is healthy. The doctor suggests he complete a living will. He gets a taxi and finds himself having a vision of being in a car on the Golden Gate Bridge. The radio says it's 5:13 p.m. three days in the future and a man is driving it while talking to a woman on the phone. As Eli watches, the bridge is shaken by an earthquake. He then finds himself back in the present and heads for Chinatown to see Dr. Chen. The doctor suggests he tell someone but Eli doesn't think anyone will believe him.

Marci is setting up in her office when Jordan comes in and wants to know why she's trying to get him ousted. She warns that their former clients are filing malpractice suits and since she can't fire Eli, she's going to fire Jordan as the one who made the arrangement.

Matt talks to Taylor and informs her he's made the reservation as promised, thanks to getting the restaurant as a client. Eli comes in to schedule time with Matt for later. He then meets with Patti who has gotten him an engagement gift to give to Maggie. Eli has mixed feelings on that but gives it to her. It's a picture frame for her fiancé Scott and she reveals he's coming to San Francisco. Eli gets a call from Dr. Chen who reveals that scientist Daniel Foote is on the news trying to warn people about an earthquake that is coming in three days.

Eli and Chen go to see Foote who shows his house is a giant earthquake detector, but he has been unsuccessful five times with his predictions. Foote's wife Moira has moved his family out of town. He's determined the epicenter will be Silver Terrace, as per Eli's previous prediction. Eli goes to court to get the city to shut down the bridge, with himself as the plaintiff.

Taylor goes to Jordan, having discovered that Marci is trying to get him fired. Jordan isn't concerned… until Marci comes in to reveal that Eli is in court about the earthquake. She insists she'll handle it and Taylor decides to talk to Eli to stop providing ammo to Marci to get her father fired.

Eli goes to Maggie for help but she is acting as second chair to oppose Eli's case. As Marci leaves, Eli sees a photo of her fiancé: it's the man from his vision.

Matt comes to see Eli who explains that he wants Matt to help with his living will, and he needs someone who is cold and unemotional. Eli then has Foote testify in court and the scientist claims he can predict with a 98% certainty that there will be an earthquake in two days. Marci calls for the testimony to be dismissed as there is no backing from the scientific community. She notes that Foote's wife left him three years ago after his earthquake prediction failed.

Afterward, Taylor goes to see Eli and points out that Jordan could be followed if Eli pursues the matter. Eli goes to Jordan who points out that he has allowed Eli to pursue the cases, and he wants Eli to finish it. Maggie is happy that they're going to win but Eli points out that Marci is using her because she understands Eli. He warns her that Marci will come to her for advice on Eli and he warns her not to be "her." She storms off, angry with him.

Back in court, Eli calls Foote's wife Moira to the stand. She testifies in favor of her husband, noting he's a genius no matter how eccentric he is. Moira left him because his theories were more important then she was. Afterward, Matt finishes Eli's living will and is depressed. Matt meets with Taylor for their dinner and suggests she go easier on Eli, but she thinks it's a trick.

Marci and Maggie are working together and Marci suggests she head home. She then notes that she and Jordan were romantically involved in the past and expresses her concern that Maggie is working against someone she was close with. Marci then asks her for input on Eli's thought processes and Maggie inadvertently mentions Eli trying to get Silver Terrace evicted. Since what Eli said was in confidence, Maggie is hesitant but Marci forces her to speak.

The next day, Marci brings in Maggie as a rebuttal witness who is hostile. Maggie is forced to testify that Eli had a vision that led to him trying to get the residents out of Silver Terrace. Eli cross-examines and has Maggie testify that she believed him. The judge considers the matter and dismisses it because of Eli's mental condition. Foote is furious that Eli undermined his theories and has nothing but visions to believe. Maggie apologizes and Eli tries to convince her to keep Scott off the bridge. Patti then calls and passes on a message from Paul Miller, the Mayor's assistant, that he wants a meeting.

Marci calls a meeting to get Jordan fired for damaging the reputation of the firm. Jordan speaks in Eli's favor, noting the court granted Eli his hearing. Further, that Eli is taking on cases that represent the best parts of themselves, and every firm needs an Eli Stone.

Eli and Foote meet with Miller and find out the mayor is closing the bridge based on Eli's assertion.

Eli and Matt call in Taylor and Patti to give them the news that Eli is getting a living will, and to have them serve as witnesses that he will have life support shut down if he is reduced to a mental vegetable. He then asks them to go to the Golden Gate Park, the safest place in town in case of an earthquake. He then makes an announcement to the entire firm, suggesting that they move to somewhere safety. He admits that everyone probably thinks he's crazy but this one time, he hopes they'll believe him. Patti leaves with him while back in the board meeting, Marci says that Jordan has been removed from his post. Jordan gets up and leaves… as an earthquake shakes the city right on time. Jordan calls for a revote.

In Golden Gate Bridge, Foote and Eli are triumphant, and Maggie introduces Eli to Scott: she believed Eli. As they look on, the Golden Gate Bridge collapses in the middle.
