The whole gang treats Ellen to Rock And Roll Dream Camp. Ellen decides to leave after she chokes while singing with Bonnie Raitt. But Paige tells Ellen that she is always afraid, and that since she is older, she needs to be bolder. This leads Ellen to write "I’m Scared of Bein’ Afraid," which she sings on the last day of camp with Bonnie Raitt, Aaron Neville, and David Crosby, along with the rest or her band, "Everything And The Girl."moreless

      • During a third take of the scene where Ellen, David Crosby, Aaron Neville, Bonnie Raitt and others perform "Scared of Being Afraid", Ellen outed herself to the studio audience by changing some lyrics around and shouting, "And, oh, by the way, I'm gay"! As a result, there were rumors in the press at this time that Ellen had finally filmed her coming out episode.

      • Sheryl Crow's appearance in the tag scene was unplanned. The singer had attended the filming of this episode and was invited up on stage to join the others for an encore performance of "Ain't Too Proud To Beg".

      • Opening sequence: Queen Latifah.
