AIRED:
Ellen is approached by hippieish Tom and Larry, who want to buy the bookstore, but continue to let Ellen run it. Ellen gets an "absolutely not" attitude and does not like Tom and Larry. Meanwhile, she’s considering buying a house, but it doesn’t really matter because she can’t afford a house, unless she sells to Tom and Larry. Ellen: Oh - I think that puppet's in the wrong show!

    • NOTES (4)

      • In most of the episodes of the fourth season, they have different musical acts singing the theme song or different celebrities just hanging out with Ellen, where the title sequence would go.

      • Season Four was released on DVD September 26, 2006. The bonus material for the DVD set include audio commentary with writers of "The Puppy Episode", cast biographies, interactive menus, and scene selection.

      • The decision to out Ellen's character as lesbian had been made, so the humorous hints began officially with this episode. Ellen sings "I Feel Pretty" while brushing her teeth.
