  • Trivia

    • Although product placement was highly unlikely during this episode, when they are discussing attractions with the opposite sex, Ellen and Peter are clearly drinking Rolling Rock beer.

    • In this opening, there are four books and a coffee mug on the table.

  • Quotes

    • Peter: There's a chance you're attracted to men. You have to be open to that possibility.
Ellen: No, I'm not open. I'm closed. The whole men's department was liquidated after years of declining sales.

    • Dan: You know, it's kinda cool talking about this stuff to you. It's like talking to a really pretty guy.
Ellen: If you like talking to pretty guys you might be gay.

    • Ellen: Women. Can't live with them, can't explain to the desk clerk why you need just one bed…

    • (After walking in on Ellen kissing her ex-boyfriend Dan)
Spence: What the hell kind of lesbian are you?

    • Ellen: I quit the book store and I'm gay.
Dan: No kidding. I just got drunk.

    • Dan: Let me show you around.
Ellen: Oh no, my date is in the washroom, she'll be back any minute.
Paige: Don't worry, there's a mirror in there, it will be a while.

    • Ellen: Dan, I'm serious, I'm gay.
Dan: Wow, you are serious. I hope this didn't have anything to do with me.
Ellen: Well, not unless you played Catwoman on Batman.

    • Paige: Im running out of lesbians!
Ellen: Well, we're not reproducing like we used to.

    • Ellen: Hanging out, getting lit sounds a lot like college.
      (Everyone laughs except Carly)
Carly: I'm sorry, you're being funny again, right?
Ellen: Let me think, yes, yes I was.
      (Carly laughs)

    • Audrey: This is so exciting. We're like Thelma and Louise. And Paige.

  • Notes

    • David Anthony Higgins and Clea Lewis are credited but don't appear.

    • From this episode on the show changed to revolve even more around Ellen's character, and not focus on the other main characters as much. Only Joely Fisher (Paige) appeared regularly from this point on.

    • From this episode on the opening was again changed. This opening featured a chair and a table beside it. On the chair the "Ellen sign" used in the season four and five opening would sit there. Every episode featured something different on the table.

    • William Ragsdale makes his last guest appearance, helping to wrap up the recurring storyline of Ellen's on-again, off-again romance with Dan.
