    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Before the advent of electronic computers, data could be stored and tabulated on paper or metal punch cards. By the mid-70's most large institutions (like Rampart General) had converted over to magnetic tape storage, but punch cards can still be found in use in places like your local voting booth.

    • QUOTES (2)

      • Captain Stanley: (holding a jug and metal tubing) Well this is what was causing all those little explosions. There must be a couple of dozen of them in there.

        Mr. Willetts: What is it?

Captain Stanley: White Lightning. Moonshine. (holds up tubing)And this was a piece of a still.

        Mr. Willetts: A still?

Captain Stanley: Mmm-hmm...(to Hosmer) You know anything about this?

        Mr. Willetts: Hosmer?

Mr. Hosmer: (drunkenly) I no more than turned my back and up it went, blewie

        Mr. Willetts: You stupid fool.

Mr. Hosmer: Why don't you pass the jug around? It's good stuff even if I do say so myself. I bet you boys could use a drink right now.

      • Johnny: No, man, you can't go to Cuba.

Robber #1: Well, that's where they go when they swipe planes.

Johnny: Not any more they don't. Man, Cuba's getting heavy on that sort of thing lately. Man, they'd put you out in a cane field. Plus, they'll take your money away.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Johnny suggests to the bank robbers that they ask for a plane and parachute out to make their getaway. He's referring to the notorious case of hijacker D. B. Cooper. In 1971, Cooper extorted $200,000 and parachuted away with the money, never to be heard from again.
