EDIT
Face to Face
AIRED:

The next morning, the five remaining teams meets with J.D. near the huts, to discuss the Blue team's elimination from the game. J.D. asks Annie to read the letter from the Blue team. In the letter, Christa and Scooter write that they compliment Jenna and Max for having the guts to send them to Temple, and that they hope the Green or Purple team win. Also, the Blue team writes that they leave their two pyramid pieces to the Annie and Jeff, of the Purple team.

While Annie and Jeff are excited to hear they have received two more pyramid pieces, the other contestants question why the Purple team received the pieces. Calley, of the Yellow team, tells the cameras that she believes Scooter left the pieces to the Purple team just to irritate the remaining contestants. It seems, however, that Calley is not upset her enemy, Annie, received pieces. Both girls tell the cameras they have talked about their differences, and have agreed to get along.

Later, while the teens relax near their huts, the Purple team voices their certainty to the other players that they will be given the Samadhi AND sent to the Temple if the Green, Yellow, or Brown teams win the next two missions. Max, of the Brown team, confirms with the cameras that Annie and Jeff will be sent to the Temple if they do not win the next day's Temple mission.

That afternoon, the teens meet on the beach to compete in their next Endurance mission, called "Face to Face". In the mission, both teammates stand on a platform in the water facing each other. Each contestant is connected to a truss by a bungee cord. As the trust lifts, the contestants will be pulled up into the air, and away from their teammates. Each teammate holds onto the end of a rope, and must hold on. Once a teammate lets go of the rope, both team members will be pulled back into the water, eliminating them from the mission. The last team holding onto the rope will win the next Pyramid Piece and the right to give the Samadhi to any team. The teams take their positions and ready to compete. The truss begins to lift, and Mike, of the Green team immediately falls into the water. Although frustrated, the Green team finds humor in their mistake, and watches on. Minutes later, Calley loses her grip on her rope, throwing both her and Shep into the water. In the meantime, the Purple, Brown, and Orange teams continue to hold on. The team members call to each other, motivating each other and telling their teammates to hold on. However, Michelle's hands slip on the rope, eliminating the Orange team from the mission, and leaving the Purple and Brown teams to duke it out. Soon, Jenna warns Max her hands are slipping, and although he pleads for her to hold on, she is unable to. The Purple team is the last team holding onto their rope, giving them the win.

After the mission, the contestants tell the cameras their take on the mission. Shep voices his first frustrations with Calley, wishing she was more athletic. Shep tells the cameras he knows he could have won past missions, if only he had had a different partner.

At the same time, Max sits by the huts, doing all he can to persuade Annie not to give the Brown team the Samadhi. Annie won't tell Max her decision, however, and he must wait until later that day to find out.

That evening, at the rock, the teams meet with J.D. to talk about the game and who will be receiving the Samadhi. When J.D. mentions the alliance between the Green, Brown, and Yellow, Max explains that the alliance is actually a "friendship". Using the Yellow team as an example, Max explains that the Yellow team has never won a mission, and would most likely not be in the game still if it weren't for their strong friendship. When asked, Max cannot say if the Brown team will or won't send the Yellow or Green teams to the Temple in the future. J.D. explains that it is time to reveal which team will receive the Samadhi, which will handicap them in the next mission. The Purple team announces that they will be giving the Samadhi to the Brown team, Jenna and Max. J.D. tells the Brown team that because they received the Samadhi, they will get a 'two foot' handicap in the next mission. With that, J.D. sends the teams back to the huts, reminding team to enjoy their night on the island, since it could be their last.moreless
