Enough Rope with Andrew Denton

Show Summary

Enough Rope with Andrew Denton stands clearly apart from the news and current affairs agenda of the week.

Andrew Denton himself described his show by saying: "It trusts the old maxim that the best television is two talking heads having a great conversation. It does not act as a plug-a-thon for anyone's latest book, movie or CD."

Denton is not afraid to tackle the big issues and he does so with dignity and humour. He gives a forum to (outrageous) ideas without being judgmental. Then he challenges people to think. And then challenge their thinking.

  • There is no better current affairs program on television BAR NONE!!! Andrew Denton is not a bullish reporter hell bent on getting the story at all cost. He works with the interviewee and gets to the truth of the matter. And the human side of the story.moreless

What more can I say. From Royalty to fallen football players, from music stars to the world famous sports men and women, all CHOOSE to be interviewed by Andrew Denton. Remember this is not an "on the street paparazzi" kind of show. This is a sit in the studio show, (similar to that of Parkinson) that gets to the real story behind the news headline. The human side, the very raw side, as close to the truth as we will ever see. And every so often when a guest allows themselves to relax just a bit too much, we learn a few intimate secets. And the smile on Andrew Denton's face is unforgetably priceless. I cannot recommend this show highly enough.moreless
