The song Susan is singing to Little Susie at the end of the episode, "Blackbird" by the Beatles, is the same one she, Chloe, and Chuni sang when the baby was delivered in the Season 1 episode "Motherhood."
Susan: (talking about Little Susie) I'm keeping her.
Mark: That's terrific! If you need tips on parenting...
Susan: You'd be the last person I'd call.
Loretta: Lydia! I got it.
Lydia: The job?
Loretta: Yes!
Lydia: Loretta, that's great!
Loretta: You are looking at a real live receptionist.
Lydia: I knew you could do it. I am so happy for you.
Loretta: I beat out five other girls. Of course, I had to do the guy, but, hey, I got the job!
Carter: A little lighter in here? They repaint?
Jerry: The Weaver has lifted.
Greene: Carter? You and Harper? Something extracurricular happening there?
Carter: (with a smile) Hmm...
Harper: What do you do after a day like today?
Ross: I tend to drink, but I'm not the best role model.
Jerry: On that note, I bid you all a fond good eve. It has been a wonderful Weaver-less day.
Randi: Is he single?
Lydia: Yeah...
Benton: Carter, I have a new procedure for you: foreign body extraction.
Carter: Uh, what kind of foreign body?
Benton: A flashlight. (holds up x-ray) Claims he fell on it while changing a fuse...naked.
Loretta: I bet you see some stuff working here.
Lydia: Oh, like you don't.
Loretta: At least my clients don't die on me, except for that one guy.
Music: "O Happy Day," Harlem Gospel Singers; "Blackbird," The Beatles (sung by Susan)
The date on Susan's mother's video camera is Thursday, October 19, the day this episode aired.
This is the first appearance of nurse trainee E. Ray Bozeman, portrayed by Charles Noland.
The title of this episode, "And Baby Makes Two," is a take on the popular phrase "and baby makes three," commonly expressed when a happy couple welcomes their little bundle of joy to the world. In this episode, however, there is only Susan to take care of the baby, hence the "makes two" rather than "makes three."
