Benton encounters trouble finding a new job after Romano blacklists him across town. He considers taking a job in Philadelphia, but decides to stay with County in a no-benefits job after Carla won't agree to a visitation schedule. Benton's nephew Jesse comes to the ER after getting in a fight at school. A shooting in the ER interrupts Carter's first day of treating trauma patients. Chen treats a dying young boy whose mother wants surgery for him, no matter what the outcome. Kovac and Abby go on a date, which is interrupted when they are mugged. Luka then beats the mugger to death. Greene treats beauty pageant contestants and is also enlisted by Malucci for a hockey game. Weaver treats a dementia patient who has been AWOL for 50 years.moreless

Benton struggling...

This episode, as a title refers, is about Benton. Now, when Romano has fired him, he is looking for new job and Romano has made it even harder - having his shadow everywhere. It looks almost hopeless. Romano offers him that he can come back with very bad conditions. Benton walks away.

He also asks Elizabeth who comes up with work on Philadelphia but Carla, seeing a change for payback, refuses to share Reese. So, he is forced to stay and hold back all his pride and go and take Romano's offer.

Also Benton's nephew is brought in as her mother seems to be very worried. Benton tries to talk but it seems not to help much.

Luka has his demons hunting him and he kills a man who tries to rob him and Abby. Carter founds himself in scene where critical patient's sister comes and shots. It was shocking.moreless

To see how the doctors have to deal with their lives is one of the main reasons to watch this show. And you could see that on this episode. Benton, tryng to get a job while Romano made the search harder. Thankfully, he finally hires him. He just did it to make him suffer.
In the other hand, Luka, feeling guilty for what he did to the mugger. He mustve felt horrible. But luckily, it was just on personal defense. Its impressive how you can have souch different feelings in a few minutes. I thought that it was very nice that Abby supported him, she couldve walked Hawai.
Poor Carter, hes always had bad luck. The sister of that woman was totally crazy. Kill your sister like that. Or maybe she wasnt her sister, well, she killed her anyway.moreless

Abby and Luka go on their first date resulting in tradgedy whilst Romano offers Benton a per diem position.

Oh Romano sucks but hey we already knew that he just proved himself even more in this epi, Benton is a good surgeon and he offers him a measly Diem position talk about a waste of talent. I do admire Benton prolonging the inevitable for as long as possible but hey Reece has to come first. It was great to hear Corday call him a turd absolute classic.
Abby seems to be constantly surprising herself kissing Kovac(lAST EPI) without warning even on her part then spontaneously asking him on a date. I say good on you girl and beating him at table football woooh.A kiss between the two was the perfect way to finish but no the writers threw a mugger into it with luka showing his heroic side and attacking the mugger rather brutally implying some serious feelings for Abby..? He did eventually die and Luka was worryingly affected even Abby couldn't help! Another dramatic plot with some of my favourite Luka and Abby scenes. Awesome.moreless
