Carol: I just want to be happy. And I'm so afraid I'll never be.
Doug: You will. (he reaches for her hand) You will.
-
(to all her guests at the wedding)
Carol: I don't know what to say. I don't know what the future holds. But I guess I'm just lucky to be alive and have so many good friends who care for me. It's been a wonderful year because of all of you.

(about Taglieri)
Carol: What's wrong with me? Why can't I fall in love with a nice guy? Someone who loves me, who wants to be with me, who is honest and decent?
Doug: Mmm... And boring.
Carol: God, he was dull! (they both laugh)

Benton: Carter, I need your course evaluation by noon.
Carter: My what?
Benton: Your course evaluation. Your assessment of your ER trauma rotation.
Carter: I get to grade you?
Benton: Just put it in Dr. Hicks's box. (he leaves)
Carter: Is he joking?
Ross: No.
Carter: Oh, there is a God!
-
Dr. Ross: We'll run some tests, and if you're still being a pain in the ass afterwards, we'll give you a spinal tap.
-
Benton: Carter, you're going to make a good doctor.
Carter: Thanks...
-
(sitting in the silent reception tent after the wedding has been called off)
Lydia: Anybody want a drink?
Haleh: Uh-huh.
-
Benton: (to Carter) Last day, right? Don't forget to turn in your lab coat and ID; you'll get your deposit back.
