Are we ready for some serious action? Are we ready for good drama? Are we ready for Luka’s professional reputation on the line? Are we ready for the coming of FOREST WHITAKER? And I thought I was in a flit when Ray Liotta was on ER!

As I’m sure everyone has seen, this is the beginning of a multi-episode arc, and a heavy one no doubt. The preview is very misleading in a sense; it captures the two of the key events in the episode, but not what drives one of them, so be prepared for something you aren’t expecting. We will be talking afterward, to be sure! Des and I have decided the secret to watching this episode is not who to believe, but where the truth lies between them. Let’s see if we’re right. I’m ready!

As always, the episode discussion threads are spoiler-free. Within the thread, anything that has already been broadcast is not considered a spoiler and can be discussed, including the content of the end-of-episode preview. If what you know has not been broadcast, however, it is a spoiler and should be discussed in the spoiler thread.

Future airdates:   Episode 13.1 (Bloodline): October 26, 2006
Episode 13.6 (Heart of the Matter): November 2, 2006

Another one of your very fine banners, Jr. Doc. Thanks, as always.

I meant to mention this in the post above, but forgot.  There are a number of video clips on the Videos page from Ames v. Kovac, of varying degrees of spoilerousness (is that a word?)  So, lest we have an accidental spoilage incident, I've taken a peek at them all.

The clips all give elements of the episode away that are best seen in context, but aren't that big a deal. I'd avoid Forest Whitaker's interview because he gives a key plot point away (the video was taken while they were filming a later episode) but GV, LI and MP's are fairly safe - they summarize bits of the Ames v. Kovac plot in very broad terms.  The "Behind the Scenes" clip is from near the end of Heart of the Matter, and gives a BIG plot point away.

Banner is wonderful, there is a clear leaning to Luka blue there! Thanks Jr.Doc

Thank you for the warnings about the videos, I shall watch them next week, when we have a rerun, rather than spoil this week's viewing!

The banner is beautiful.  The pic of Luka is just mahvelous.  Nice job.

As for the episode, I'm excited to see what unfolds, and what long-term affects it might have on Luka-and his family-as far as how he will interact with Abby and the baby after a stressing event as this ('stressing" isn't necessarily the word I was looking for.).  I'm also anxious to see what he does differently when treating patients, if anything at all.  And it looks like Abby comes back to work tomorrow night, and I'm excited to see her interactions with the others after being gone for so long.  Very excited!!!

Is that why you gave it a blue tint Jr. Doc?

Yes, I knew I would have dissapointed Doc if I would have gone with, let's say . . . orange.

Darn straight! Our Junior Doc knows me so well. And let's face it. The man OWNS the color, and has since his first episode. Zowee.

Cute blurb from a Florida newspaper's "best of" column. Their choice for Thursday:

ER: As if Kovac (Goran Visnjic) hadn't been through enough lately, now he's being sued. Forest Whitaker ("The Shield") guest stars in this new episode as stroke patient Curtis Ames, who is alleging neglect at the hospital. It was a while back, and Kovac has trouble remembering what he did or didn't do that day.

Only 14.5 hours to go - sounds like it could be a tense week, after last week's calmer episode....

Run a Google search on GV or FW's name this AM and there's lots of buzz about the episode tonight in the media-related press.  It seems to be the show to watch tonight.  Imagine that.

Bummer! The buzz in both the US and Canadian press.  There's a nice article in the Ottawa newspaper today praising FW, but principally talking about the new creativity on the show and the emergence of Luka as the character who is "heart and soul" of the show.   The overriding theme of what I'm reading is the cast survived what is now a complete turnover, and the show has continued to reinvigorate itself.

In other words, the good work from S12 has come home to roost in S13 now the new ensemble with L/A at the center has solidified.
