I completely agree there. He was just used as a showpiece to drive Luka to the Chief's job. In the end, his own storyline meant little at all.

Clemente's "breakdown" led to Kerry's demotion to an ER attending, which ultimately led to her dismissal. So I wouldn't say his storyline didn't mean little.

I guess that's true. I hadn't thought of the Kerry storyline regarding Clemente. I'd been thinking more along the lines of that season. I've been ready for Kerry's exit for a long time, but actually I was sorry to see the writers use Clemente as her way out. In the end, I don't think his own storyline meant much, but it did have some repercussions with a few other storylines.

Clemente also mentioned surgery as an elective to Neela and today she's now in surgery.

My apologies. I just realized I accidentally posted twice. What a doofus I am! You're right, too, Clemente was the one that started Neela thinking about surgery. Perhaps he had more influence on storylines than I first suggested. I just wish HIS own storyline hadn't been such a mess.

Yeah, while I thought his character was good, I wish they would have just focused on him as a doctor rather than someone with a troubled past.

    Great news!
I've always been interested in seeing some past characters come back and interact with present-day ones. Thanks for posting this.

I'm happy, though I'm not going to get more spoiled on the context of [their] return...

I agree. I wish that many of the characters from earlier seasons will return for season 14! (Trying to avoid spoilers though, so thanks Raven, for removing the slightly spoilerous bits.)

You're welcome. I think news like that is worth sharing, but those in the know should do it in such a way that those of us that like being kept completely in the dark can stay that way! After all, ignorance is bliss...

Here's a link to an article on E! Online about the writers strike and how it might affect ER. Note that it's under the "Gossip," not "Gospel," tab...

Posted this yesterday in chit-chat but just remembered the existence of this thread :

    http://www.afterellen.com/people/TV/2007/2/laurainnes?page=0%2C0

Sweet interview with Laura about playing Kerry.

Tried to submit the link on laura's page but tv.com isn't liking me right now

Julianna Margulies is now a married woman! Good thing, too, because she's expecting her first baby in January!

Seriously, though, she wed boyfriend Keith Lieberthal on November 10 in a traditional ceremony in Lenox, Massachusetts. Congratulations to them both!

Mekhi Phifer and his fiancée, Oni Souratha, welcomed a baby boy, Mekhi Thira Phifer, into their family on October 30 in Los Angeles. He joins big brother Omikaye, Mekhi's eight-year-old son with ex-wife Malinda Williams. Congrats!
