Benton: Carter, you're twice the surgeon Dale will ever be. Carter: Thanks.
(Doug just set up a video camera in the bedroom) Doug: You talked about this fantasy years ago. Carol: I did not! Did I? Doug: Actually, I think you accused me of taping myself with various 20-year-olds. Carol: That was harsh. Doug: Yeah. Carol: Was I right? Doug: No. You see all this stuff? I did it because I want to make you happy. Carol: Really? You did all this for me? Doug: I'd do anything for you.
Cynthia: (to Mark) Who peed in your cornflakes?
Corday: Peter Benton, Rocket Romano. Romano: Dr. Benton. Hey, Lizzie's talked about you. Tell me something. Do you think Chris Rock is funny? Benton: Excuse me? Romano: The comedian, Chris Rock. He did that HBO special. Must have used the N-word 50 times; N-word this, N-word that. They're calling him a genius. If I went around saying the N-word, you'd probably want to smack the hell out of me. Am I right? Benton: (long pause) I think Chris Rock is hilarious. (walks away) Romano: (calling after him) Good to meet you! Corday: Have a good night! Romano: (to Corday) You're right. I like him.
Carter: For the average male penis you'll use a 16 french Foley catheter. Ivan: Those French, they think of everything. Carter: It refers to the circumference. One french is a third of a millimeter diameter. Ivan: Oh. Carter: You want to check the Foley balloon for leaks by injecting some saline. You lube up the tip with Lidocaine. Now you are ready to insert, applying gentle, constant pressure. Ivan: Isn't this a nurse's job? Carter: You need to know how, Ivan. So grab that penis and show it who's boss.
Though spelled correctly when he is listed as the series creator in the opening credits, Michael Crichton's last name is incorrectly spelled "Chrichton" when he is listed with the other executive producers in the end credits of this episode. This mistake was repeated in most of the Season 4 episodes and in all of the Season 6 episodes.
Michael Beach (Al Boulet) and Coby Bell (Brett Nicholson) would later star together on Third Watch, another NBC show created by John Wells.
In this episode, Paul McCrane makes his first appearance as Dr. Robert Romano. He would be a recurring guest star throughout Seasons 4 and 5, before joining the main cast as a regular in the Season 6 episode "Leave It to Weaver."
