  • Trivia

    • At the drug-testing clinic, the nurse asks Dr. Clemente for a mid-stream sample. He promptly proceeds to give her a full-stream sample. Obviously, he would have known better, and she should have objected as well.

  • Quotes

    • Morris: Abby, you get fever rash. I will take dog bite to the ear lobe. Wait, no--you take dog bite and I'll take the rash. It could be Rubella. We wouldn't want our baby getting a torch infection.
      Abby: What?
Morris: Torch infection. You know, herpes.
Abby: I know what a torch infection is.
Morris: Then you know it wouldn't be good for our baby.
Abby: Why do you keep calling it "our" baby?
Morris: I don't mean our baby like you and me. I mean like our baby, like an ER mascot.
Abby: This baby isn't anybody's mascot. (she walks away).
Morris: Oh, come on! Don't go away mad!

    • Mr. Sadler: I think I've just committed suicide.

    • Clemente: I had the weekend off, did a little weed and some blow. You're a musician, you know what I mean.
      Ray: No, not really.
Clemente: What? You in a Christian band?

    • (Morris is showing the ER to his "kids"}
Morris: Hey, Abby! Come meet my children.
      Abby: Not now, Morris.
Morris: (to the children) Okay. She hates kids.

    • (talking about baptizing their baby)
Luka: Okay... Have you ever been to a baptism?
Abby: Yeah, I have. I thought it was weird.
      Luka: Weird?!

    • (while taking a picture of Morris with his "kids")
      Frank: Okay, everybody say "Freak."

    • (when Ray hesitates to present to him)
Clemente: X-Ray, I'm not feelin' the love, man. What's the problem?

    • Neela: You know, today was a complete disaster, but at least I didn't bring it on myself.
Dubenko: No, no, no, no. No... you were the victim of a truly astounding confluence of technical problems, miscalculated pharmaceuticals, and rat activists.

    • Luka: This was an honor killing?
Riza: Yes, yes. That is what they call it. But there is no honor here.

    • Dubenko: I was thinking of getting a dog, but you know, a roommate's probably easier to house-train.

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Protesters: Rats have rights!
"Rats have rights" is a slogan that originated with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). PETA is opposed to all research involving animals.

    • Abby: (to Luka, about baptizing their baby-to-be) There's something so... so Rosemary's Baby about it.
Abby is referring to the 1968 horror movie Rosemary's Baby, starring Mia Farrow. The film involves a pregnant woman who believes Satanists are after her baby.
