Chloe is acting like she is.. but she is eager to have baby and she wastes a lot of money on baby things but always manages to make Susan smile and forget that she will let this change go, as all others.

Benton tries to save and help everyone as he is not able to help her mother. Jeanie is still visiting her and they go to dinner. And Carter.. always busy, running around, trying to impress everyone.

And Doug... he looks like he wants to thing become more serious but flirts with others. So, Diane will confront him as she could let it go, but her son - he won't and it looks Doug takes it seriously.moreless

    • Benton: I... I couldn't get through this thing... if it wasn't for you.
Jeanie: I think Peter Benton can get through anything.
Benton: He used to think so.

    • Chloe: I'm gonna be somebody's mother.
Susan: If mom can do it, you can.
Chloe: At least I didn't drink sangria all day.
Susan: Or smoke four packs of Luckys. (pause) And we turned out okay.
Chloe: And mom didn't have you to help her.

    • Diane: Murphy found you charming. You must have turned it on.
Doug: I don't turn it on; it's just there.
Diane: Yeah, like a force of nature.

    • Greene: What's Benton doing?
Carter: Out looking for Dr. Dyer. It's about his mother though. Figures if he can't make her better then he'll fix everything else.
Ross: Carter, I think you took one too many Psych classes.

    • Greene: Mr. Reicher, can you hear me? You're going to be fine. You drank yourself into an ulcer, and now the taxpayers are going to buy you out of it.

    • Rolando: (about Dr. Swift) Is he a jerk?
      Susan: I don't know yet.

    • Benton: Thank you.
      Carter: Excuse me?
      Benton: I said "thank you."
Carter: I know. I just wanted to hear you say it twice.

    • Susan: Why do nurses wear colors and doctors wear white?
Carol: Because doctors are pure and good.
      Doug: Does that include me?
      Carol: No.

    • Ross: I always wondered why there is a Naval base on Lake Michigan. Who's going to invade? Canadians?

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Title: "Men Plan, God Laughs"
The title of this episode is from a Yiddish proverb, transliterated to "A mentsh tracht und Gott lacht," which in English means "A respected person plans, and God laughs." The Yiddish proverb in turn may be derived from the Biblical verse found in Psalm 33:10: "The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples."
