  • Fight for Reese...

    8.1
Benton is in hard position as the court is taking place over Reese. Cleo does not do well and she is blamed about the accident what happened with piano. Benton's don't go better either as the main topic is Jackie and the other said has much to say and think about her.

Storyline with Kovac and Nicole takes interesting turn and after talking with Abby, she decides to brake out of it. Maybe she felt that there were too many lies and she cannot come out clean of it, and as Abby said, they do not want to hurt him. So, she decided to leave and told there is no baby (what is a lie, I think..)

And all other storylines.. everyone got little development. Everything was going on their own direction. And Rachel's storyline - it looks promising. I was so sure she will test positive but not. She is over her limits and I can understand why her mother did not cope with her. But with Mark - I am sure it will get worse as he is not home, not keeping eye on her..moreless
  • An entertaining, ER-style episode.

    7.0
I think this episode has two objectives: Reese's custody and Susan/Carter. Although there another interesting stories, like Weaver and her awkward ask for a date, we all know how that ends up. We also saw Corday in a difficult situation. And we find out who Nicole really is and how Kovac deals with it, with Abby somehow in the middle of it.

In this episode you really fear for Benton loosing Reese and everything makes you think he won't have the custody, specially for his "Why don't you ask me that?" scene.

I think somehow, when you think of this episode, it leaves you with the feeling that Susan and Carter make a really nice, fun couple and that it would be good for them to be together.

This is a ER episode, not at all boring nor repetitive.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When the afro-american patient punches the wall to piss his father off after his brother died, the left half of his hand is covered in blood. On the next shot, he only has a few scratches on the whole hand and a bit of dust from the wall where the blood used to be.

    • Goof: During Cleo's testimony at Reese's custody hearing, she says that she and Peter Benton have been together for "almost three years." However, Cleo and Peter did not start dating until January 2000 (in the Season 6 episode "The Domino Heart"), just under two years earlier from when this episode takes place.

    • Goof: In Season 1, we learned that Jackie has three kids, but in this episode she mentions only a daughter and a son that died.

  • QUOTES (13)

    • (talking about the weirdest places they've each had sex)
Carter: On a train to Seattle.
      Susan: Really? With who?
Carter: I was by myself. But it was memorable.

    • (Dr. Greene and Frank discussing Corday's return to surgery)
Frank: (sarcastically) Good news. The paramedics roll me in, I'll take Romano.

    • (after discussing Benton's necktie before the trial, his attorney switches ties with him)
Benton: That is the "whitest" tie I've ever seen.
      Attorney: It's blue...

    • Luka: Are you angry with me?
      Nicole: No, of course not.
Luka: Do you think I'm angry with you?
      Nicole: I hope not.
Luka: Then why? I thought we both felt the same.
Nicole: You're a good person, but you talked yourself into loving me. This isn't real... I'll leave the key inside.
Luka: I made an OB appointment for Friday.
      Nicole: That's not necessary.
      Luka: It is.
Nicole: No, it's not. I'm not pregnant. I felt safe for the first time in a long time... I didn't want to lose you. So I made it up, Luka. I'm sorry. I made it all up. (she walks away)

    • Abby: So Nicole... They let her go? I'm sure she'll find another job.
Luka: It's not important. She'll wanna take it easy now, with the baby coming.
      Abby: She's keeping it?
      Luka: Thought she would'nt?
      Abby: Ah... I don't know. It's, it's tough being a single mother.
Luka: Maybe she won't be. Ah, I need some Versed to.
      Abby: You can't be serious.
      Luka: She's a good person.
Abby: You met her like 5 minutes ago!
Luka: It's the right thing to do.
Abby: Did she take a pregnancy test?
      Luka: 'Course.
Abby: Did you see it? I mean, in front of you?
      Luka: I trust her!
Abby: What exactly has she done to deserve that?
Luka: How can you be so...?!
Abby: And even if it is yours, there's other ways to help! (pause) How much Versed?
      Luka: I'll do it.
      Abby: No, I'll do it...
Luka: I said I'll do it!

    • Abby: This is not the way to get Luka.
Nicole: What are you talking about?
Abby: The truth... What happened to your father?
Nicole: I told you. He killed himself when I was little.
Abby: And then miraculasly came back to life again so he could kick you out when you were 16?
Nicole: Is this funny to you?
Abby: No. I'm just trying to figure it out. You have'nt told anyone the same story twice.
Nicole: My mother remarried, and my step-father did'nt want me around.
Abby: O.k. I guess you have an answer for everything.
Nicole: I guess everything's your buisniss.
Abby: I just don't wanna see him hurt.
Nicole: Maybe you just don't want to see him happy.
Abby: I know what won't make him happy. A made up life. I, you know, if this is, if this is all for real, that's great. Go for it. But if it's not, he's gonna figure it out. He's not stupid.

    • Lewis: Does Weaver know you're running a brothel?
Carter: It's not a brothel if they're married.

    • Carter: Have any of you guys ever heard of an allergy to semen?
Lewis: Maybe an aversion, but not an allergy.

    • Carter: Have fun with your suturing.
Lewis: Have fun with your rectum.

    • Gallant: Is Dr. Benton ever in a good mood?
      Corday: He has his moments.

    • Carter: (to Lewis, after kissing her) You don't have any allergies I should know about, do you?

    • Carter: Just goes to teach you never to doubt my diagnoses.
Lewis: Yeah, no matter how looney they are.

    • Romano: Who's in charge here? I ordered liver an hour ago and haven't seen my waitress since.
Benton: The patient is still breathing.
      Romano: How inconsiderate...

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Title: "Quo Vadis?"
The title of the episode translates from Latin to English as "Where do you go?" or "Where are you going?". Interestingly, the Latin language does not use question marks, so the question mark at the end of the title is incorrectly included.
