Goof: Doug tells Carol he will meet her on the corner of Clark and Dearborn, which is impossible; they are parallel streets.
Carol: I needed to think. Doug: About what? Carol: About you and me. And the engagement and the vows and the rings. I think we're rushing into this. I don't think we're ready. Doug: I'm ready. But you aren't? Carol: When I was talking to Greg Powell, it got intense. And... and I kissed him. It didn't go any further than that. But it was one of those moments, you know? I didn't want it to... Doug: Okay, that's good. I just wanted to make sure you were safe and sound (he picks up his coat) Carol: Doug! I am so sorry! Doug: Yep, me too! (he leaves)
Corday: I... I'd invite you back to my place... but I fear I'd be taking advantage. Benton: My head is spinning. I should just get some sleep. Corday: It's probably best.
Dr. Anspaugh: We might need your help. Scott responds to you. So I was wondering if you might be interested in being a part-time private duty caregiver for him. Jeanie: What does Scott think about this? Dr. Anspaugh: Well, we haven't discussed it specifically, but I know he thinks very highly of you. (pause) As do I. If you need time to think about it-- Jeanie: No. No, I'm glad that you asked.
Anna: You're leaving in the middle of your shift. It's about your cousin, isn't it? Carter: I know what I'm doing. Anna: You don't look like you know what you're doing. Carter: (annoyed) And you don't know anything about my family, so just drop it.
(about Carol) Doug: Every other woman I ever went out with, just... you know, I knew it was wrong. Now I'm going to spend the rest of my life with her. I'm talking like an idiot here. Mark: You're acting like somebody who'll be a husband tomorrow morning. Doug: A husband. Can you imagine that? (they laugh)
Elizabeth: It's been a long day. I could use a drink. How about you? Peter: No, I don't drink. Elizabeth: Your body's made up of 60% water, Peter. You must drink something. Peter: Elizabeth, you know what I mean. Elizabeth: Well, have a lemonade or a Yoo-Hoo, for all I care.
Carol: What are you thinking about? Greg: I'm thinking I'm not feeling the cold. Carol: Yeah? Greg: Yeah. And I'm thinking that cat will come out when she's good and ready. Carol: Probably. Greg: And I'm thinking if I look at you one more second, I'm going to have to kiss you.
Benton: No, I have nothing against liquor. I just don't like the taste. Corday: So, it's not a control thing?
Carter: Take a look at yourself, Chase. You're a mess. Chase: Thank you, Mr. Blackwell.
Though spelled correctly when he is listed as the series creator in the opening credits, Michael Crichton's last name is incorrectly spelled "Chrichton" when he is listed with the other executive producers in the end credits of this episode. Music: Tears for Fears, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"; Frank Sinatra, "That's Life"; Martha Reeves, "Heat Wave"
Carter: Take a look at yourself, Chase. You're a mess. Chase: Thank you, Mr. Blackwell. This is a reference to Richard Blackwell, a fashion critic best known for his annual "ten worst-dressed women of the year" awards, which he has given every year since 1960.
