Luka: Let's just go some place new. Somewhere where nobody knows us. I know we have good friends here in Chicago, and you've got this great job... Abby: Do you know that I love you more than I could ever explain? (they kiss) Let's get outta here.
Mr. Masterson: The only place worse than South Dakota: North Dakota. I had to move my whole family there; wife, two kids, and they hate me for it. I hate me for it! Pratt: So, why did you leave them? Mr. Masterson: I could tell you that, but then I'd have to kill you.
Abby: ...I got you this. Luka: A paper! Abby: It's what you're supposed to get for the first anniversary. (Luka stays very still) Okay, uh, thanks for the ride.
Abby: Ahh, hi guys! Hey, I missed you guys! (she takes Joe from Luka's arms) I missed you. (talking to Joe) How was your weekend with daddy?
Luka: Uh, pretty good. He only ate frozen waffles and strawberry yogurt.
Abby: It's part of the new environment. But it's okay, strawberries are almost a vegetable, right? (talking to Joe, almost whispering) Hey, how are you buddy? Huh? (talking to Luka) Do you want a cup of coffee?
Luka: Huh, no, no, I'm off caffeine.
Abby: Really! Wow! Good for you. What happened to his (Joe's) knee?
Luka: Huh, he felt, I think.
Abby: You think?
Luka: Yeah, I left him with Marnia, yesterday, for a couple of hours...
Abby: It's your first weekend alone with your son and you left him with a babysitter?
Luka: It was just for two hours, Abby. Come on.
Drunk patient: Listen up, everybody. I'm the last guy you want in the ER.
Moretti: Can we talk for a minute? Abby: Let's not. Moretti: Abby, I've tried to call you. Abby: I know, but it's... this is just not really a good time because I'm totally slammed. Moretti: Oh, than why are you walking out? Abby: Because I don't want to do this. Moretti: Can I talk to you for five minutes? Abby: No. Look, my marriage is over, okay> Can you just leave me alone? Moretti: Five minutes! (they end up talking on the street) Moretti: Abby, I didn't know about you and Luka. I'm sorry. Abby: Me too. Moretti: Look, I just want to talk to you, just for a sec, about the way that I left. Abby: It doesn't matter. Moretti: Well, my kid was really sick, okay? And, and I lost my footing for awhile. Abby: Yes, I know how that feels, trust me. Moretti: Good. He was in a psych ward for eight weeks. Told me he wanted to die. Abby: I'm very sorry to hear that. I am sorry but I... Moretti: Anyway, in the middle of it, his mother and I, you know, we started talking, really talking, and by the time he got out of the hospital, we were a family again. Abby: That's great for you. Really, really great. Moretti: Look, all I'm trying to say is that every couple goes through some awful and messed up stuff. Abby: Kevin, are you feeling guilty or responsible? Because you, because you're not. You don't have to. Moretti: I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry. Abby: You don't have to be sorry. All you did was help me to ruin my life a little bit faster. That's it. I have to go back to work. (she walks away)
