A interesting episode. The all storyline with Luka and Abby. It was so sure to come for so long time - the ending of the last season promised it as Luka is just, as Abby said - married with ghost. It was cruel and he won't get over it but it is true - that is his problem - the past hunting him and it is hard for someone, who has her own problems, to get along with that kind of person. Maybe now Carter has a change and I am sure they would be happier as Carter is more happy person.

The storyline with Carter and him not leaving - it was... they can really drown on patients and the way he stayed - I think Carry has been cruel with him and at least should think him for attending.

And Carla.. somehow I am glad that storyline ended as it started to become somehow - I never liked Carla, but.. Now Benton will have Reese?moreless

ER is over loaded. Everyone is going crazy. Mark faces the wrath of Elizabeth. Abby convinces Carter to talk to Weaver. He goes back and tells Weaver that he is applying for the attending position. Chen asks him to take one easy dispo. And a patient pees on Carter. What a great day for him, eh? The friend of Carter`s patient faints, he thinks it`s beacuse of the blood. Chuny says he doesn`t have a pulse. Elizabeth is "cranky". Injuries are being brought in from a heavy matel concert. Abby finds Luka playing playstation in an empty house. Peter is called off, it`s something about his son. Elizabeth is called in instead of him.She looks really pretty. Weaver`s private investigator is back. He says that he has found her mother for real this time. Luka takes Abby to a restaurant, where a waitress named Nicole works. Abby is jealous. Peter finds Reese in a hospital. They were involved in an accident. Carter treats a girl who is infected because of her piercing which is placed in an unusual place. Her friend jumps on Carter`s back and he smackes her to the window. Carter calls Abby about a patient and Luka gets all angry about this. Weaver leaves and goes to Doc Magoo`s. Peter sees Carla, she`s dead. He tries to explain it to Reese. "Sometimes people can`t wake up..." It`s a really sad scene. Malucci and Chen have a patient who is having an MI. Chen wants Weaver to be paged but soon, they really screw it up. Weaver doesn`t answer the page. Abby and Luka have an argument. Carter takes action in Chen and Malucci`s case. "You`re not that pretty, you`re not so special." "You`re married to a ghost." Pretty harsh guys, it may not be the wisest way to scream your guts out to each other in the middle of the street. Luka is fed up with it all. "I`m done, okay?! Carter can have you!" Luka says and they break up. Carter runs to get Weaver , he slips and falls pretty bad on his back. He gets her, Weaver tells "Stop compressions, You killed him. " Weaver gets mad and yells at Chen and Malucci. Malucci yells back at Weaver, it`s not a smart move, obviously. Elizbaeth and Mark have another fight. So much for a day. Weaver goes back to Doc Magoo`s and finds her pager. Dale tells the sentence of the day. "The longer you stay, the longer you stay." It`s a very fast moving episode. Both funny and sad at the same time, with the real ER experience.moreless

  • Upheaval in the personal lives of the doctors.

    8.5
    "Great"
This episode mainly focuses on the personal lives of the doctors. There is trouble all around. Mark and Elizabeth are feeling the stress of new parenthood, fighting over scheduling, exhaustion and child care options.

Carla dies in a car accident, and it is up to Dr. Benton to inform Reese. Very difficult storyline to watch, and it sets the stage for a custody battle over the young child.

Luka and Abby spend the evening fighting, and ultimately break-up. They were both at their worst in this episode. What seemed poorly written to me was the infamous insult Luka hurls at Abby - "You're not that pretty. You're not that special." Had this been said by another character, it might have been more plausible. However, Luka is typically chivalrous, gallant and protective. This simply seems out of character to say such a cruel thing, no matter how he was provoked.

The investigator hired by Dr. Weaver to find her birth mother returns to the hospital with news that she has been located. Dr. Weaver goes to Doc Magoo's to discuss the situation with him, and leaves her pager in the bathroom.

Meanwhile, Malucci and Chen make a critical error with a young patient that costs him his life. While working on him, they keep paging Dr. Weaver to no avail. When Kerry arrives, she is irate with both Malucci and Chen for their mistakes, but later realizes that she had misplaced her pager, leaving her unavailable to her residents when they most needed her.moreless

Oh my! Grab the tissues. After Carla dies in the car accident, Benton first explains to Roger what occurred. He then sees the contents of Carla's purse, including a picture of Roger and Reese. Then, Benton goes to Reece, where he is explaining to him where his mommy is will bring tears to your eyes. He tries saying she's gone, she left, she's asleep, and she's with God. Reese indicates to wake her but Benton tries to explain that sometimes, people can not wake up. Reese's facial expressions and sign language gestures, especially about waking his mother, are heart-wrenching and unbelievably realistic. It is an excellent scene.moreless

I was really sorry for Carter, he had to stay longer because he wanted the chief resident, and nobody wanted to help him because they were out of time. Really hate the actitude of Luka, he was soo evil with abby, and well... abby wasn't very sweet ether, but the way they broke was very ugly nor Abby or Luka deserved that.

This is the first episode i seen of er of this season, i have always watch season 10 and 11 so i have no idea how cute Cater looks as a rookie, and Weaver isn't in charge a little scare.moreless
