Episode Summary

Gallant has a rough day due to his inability to make himself heard. First, Pratt butts in on a patient of his. Then Stella Willis dies because Kayson didn't bother with thorough treatment. Weaver makes a mistake on live television while demonstrating flu shots, inadvertently sticking two reporters with the same needle. In the bathroom, Susan and Abby catch Weaver in a stall with a needle. Weaver later confesses to Susan that she's taking hormones. Carter, assuming Susan already knows, tells her about Abby's drinking problem. Abby becomes nurse manager, and argues with Carter about her drinking. Gallant's frequent flier, Stella is not admitted again by Kayson. She stays on a trolley in the hall and crashes. Attempts to save her fail and Kayson refuses to take any blame for his lack of action, much to Gallant's fury.

IMO Abby should run a mile from Carter after this episode. He reveals to Susan that Abby has a drink problem, having already done the same to Luka. He then gets angry with her and walks away when she asks him not too. Even the ending is not sufficient to make up for being such a rotten friend.

Luka treats a girl who it turns out has renal failure. He also treats her mother to a session in the storage cupboard, which Susan suggests to him is not entirely appropriate! As the girl's condition is confirmed he is feeling somewhat sheepish!moreless

This is the first Gallant episode, I think, we had. And it is worth it. He is having hard time as he tries to help an army man who took too much medicine for malaria in order to kill himself or get high. Gallant tries to protect him but Pratt acts and he is up to psychologie. Then it gets even harder when the lady Gallant has seen so many times, crashes as cardiology did not take her in and he did not stand for her. She dies and Gallant takes it up on the doctor who did not take her in. Pratt is asked to stand in the middle and so they have a fight.

    Abby and Carter have problems.moreless

The Exxon Valdez was an oil tanker that gained infamy when on March 24, 1989 it ran aground and spilled at least 10 million gallons of crude oil into the relatively pristine waters of Alaska's Prince William Sound. It was one of the largest spills in United States history and considered one of the worst ecological disasters to date Edit
