  • Carter's return in this 2nd season opener is the focal point of this episode. We briefly see Kerry Weaver in her first appearance. And as usual, the ER itself is one of the most compelling characters.moreless

    "Superb"
John Carter returns from vacation and has the usual day from hell, drawing Peter's ire for forgtting key things; Mark goes to his first staff meeting and has his choice for chief shot down; The broken air conditioner and the ensuing repairs becomes a storyline and culminate when a worker crashed thru the ceiling, falls on a patient and gets his heart started! Personal storylines which became almost overwhelming in later years are almost non-existent, giving the frenetic pace of the ER front and center where it belongs. Overall, a very solid episode for the top rated show in TV.moreless
