Seth Meyers came back for his second stint as host and I think he'll be asked back for a third time. Meyers' opening monologue was superior to his last year, but he still came off as awkward and nervous at times. Glad to see ESPN let him get an edgy joke in when he said that Michael Vick's MVP votes mostly came from cats, but as a whole he stayed away from controversy, which was probably a good idea as this is a show for sports fans after all.
Glad Cam Newton did not get any big wins, and I am glad that Jimmer did win College Player of the Year. Lindsey Vonn winning was a bit surprising, I thought Maya Moore deserved that. Brian Wilson was on screen a lot, but you can't fault the show for knowing who is arguably the most entertaining athlete out there right now.
Solid show from start to finish, but an award show for sports can only be so good I guess.
