Why some people DONT like Eureka seven?

    I Have been wondering what it is about eureka seven that devides people so much its like either you love it or you hate it. i began to think about this because i have read about it didn't do so well with ratings on Japanese TV. (but it should be doing okay on the dvd maked) and  its not doing good at all on american tv. im wondering why that is. My own theory is that Many people and now im talking about america. Likes action animes. they want something to blow up most of the time and many of the viewers even for a teen / adult anime as this is likes action, and Eureka seven does offer action. but the focus is more on Relationship and feelings than it is on some good Mecha action. Personaly i LOVE eureka seven its by far the best anime i have ever seen (and thats the same thing many of the Pro-eureka seven people says. and what i think about "low" ratings in japan is prolly on the fact that they have so much to choise from . ANYWAY what do you guys think the reason is. i know there is alot of people on this forum who LOOVES eureka seven as much as i do. and i have seen alot of animes so i have stuff to compare it with. also might one of the reason for eureka seven doing bad in america have to do with bad dubbing?.

    i would like to mention that on Narutofan.com's forum alot of people are inlove with this anime too and there are alot of hardcore Anime fans on that forum too .

    I have to agree with you that people either love it or hate it, depending on their taste. Me, I love it because it is a good change from all the animes I've been watching e.g. (Naruto, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist & Inuyasha). Just like you said it deals with mainly relationships that some people might not like, but i love it and thats the only reason I watch animes like Inuyasha (love triangle ). People might not like it due to the lack of combat in episodes, however I feel that to much combat gets very teadious & predictable.

    So this anime is definatly in my top 5 after: Avatar, Naruto, Bleach & Full Metal Alchemist.

    I'm with you Nikmi I LOVE Eureka Seven alot and I also love Naruto and quite a few other animes too.

    I've watched all of the episodes for Eureka Seven and it is my favorite anime. So I was wondering if someone could recomend a similar anime show? I am currently watching Bleach and Naruto but I was hoping for a anime more like Eureka Seven (couple/relationship). I love the Eureka and Renton couple!

    well there is alot of Couple/releationship animes out there but what are you looking for not all of them contains fighting many of them are just about the ppl. and takes place in the "real world"

    Yeah I was hoping for the same as Eureka Seven where there is fighting with emphasis on couple/relationship themes because Eureka Seven is just so good haha.

    i would reccomend watching fullmetal panic there is fighting and a lot of the seris is about a relationship. FMP is a very under rated anime

    Yeah i know what you mean, I wanted to watch Full Metal Panic but its almost impossible to find & thats how i found out about Eureka Seven.

    Fruits Basket has some sorta kinda couple relationships in it, and some fighting, but mostly it's drama. If you want to be totaly confused and love it watch Furri Curri (or Fooly Cooly) lots of action, a few couples and a lot of crazy. it's only 6 episodes. If you don't mind girly anime, Pretear has couples and action as well, however, it aimed at girls.

    Strictly couples anime are tougher to find these days. Because Couple + 2 or more people = Harem anime (and there's a lot ore of that now).

    But another good couple animes I'd recommend would be Kare Kano (His and her Circumstance) or Chobits.

    I started watching Full Metal Panic on youtube and I really like this anime but stupid youtube removed episodes 7 and 8 so I can't watch!! Any ideas on where I can watch them please??

    go whine in another topic about most animes having kids as the main characters not here 80% of all animes are with kids or / and teens as the main characters so dont try to make it sound like Eureka seven is a bad anime for having two kids/teens as the main characters

    Yeah I know cause all the best animes have kids like: Avatar, Bleach, Full metal Alchemist & ofcourse Naruto. What kind of fool thinks an animes bad cause it involves kids, doesn't know what an anime's all about.

    My sister said Eureka SeveN is a ripoff of Fooly Cooly. However E7 is WAY more serious than FLCL, if you ask me, E7 makes FLCL look like a joke.

    if you have comcast digitle cable they have full metal panic on demand they release 1 episode every week or two

    If you consider "a bit" to be 46 episodes longer than you're right Although story-wise they are a bit similiar, but the animation isn't even close but Renton and Ton-kun (as he's often called) do look very similar.

    Another series that's as much about character development and interaction as it is plot is Last Exile (my second favorite series).  Claus is my favorite character; ever.  The show's slightly more grounded in reality; people die easily, there are no mechs or super powerful people.  It's two kids, their vanship (a flying vessel), and a war.  Well, there's more than that, of course, but that's the main focus.  It's a GREAT series.
